NO CLIMATE CHANGE TREATY WITHOUT CHINA

"Just like us": I can see this being true, and not total bull. Perhaps they want do to be as powerful and wealthy as us... why not? But not as we are now, rather, the way we got here. Is it maybe they don't want to emulate our regulations as they stand now, because they view that as hindering the goal? Maybe the way to accomplish it is to go through a heavy industrial period where they can pollute at-will, and worry about clean air and water later, on when they've got the money to do so?

'WE DIDN'T KNOW" WILL NOT BE AN ACCEPTED EXCUSE

I could not agree with you more. The hypnotic hold that "the One" has over half of our country just shows the ignorance of those people. I have never seen a person nominated to such a high office with so little qualification. I would disagree with your opinion that he will not sell us out to the UN. He will usher us toward a one world government, and the super power we know as the United States of America will be religated to history books. I pray that I am wrong. I believe MCCain can win this election. I don't believe the polls. Thanks for your insight!

THE MORAL COWARDICE OF SARAH PALIN

The fact that I think Sarah Palin still stumbles around interview questions a bit is the only thing I think you have in this weirdly timed bitter diatribe against Governor Palin.

Only liberals, jihadis, and their apologists have ever tried to determine a "moral equivalence" between Islamic terrorism (which is a principle of Islam as practiced around the world) and the very rare insane Christian person who takes their hatred for abortion to the point of murdering people.

This race is only close because of Sarah Palin. Spend countless hours quibbling about her shortcomings after the elections, ok? And have better arguments next time.

IF ELECTED, OBAMA WILL BE MY PRESIDENT

If Obama wins fairly, then we can accept him as President in title with the respect that office deserves. However, we do not have to freely accept Obama's policies and I would expect most conservatives to strongly challenge every step, Law and appointments made by a Liberal President and Congress. This is also defined by our Democracy.

MORE ON THOSE "ANGRY, RACIST GOP MOBS"

Let's get one thing straight right now. I live in New York City and am in a creative profession which means I work and socialize with people whose politics and general value systems are very different from mine. I simply avoid politics, but I hear more unhinged comments about McCain, Palin, Bush and basically anyone who doesn't live on the coasts on a daily basis than the sum total of every real or imagined comment at a McCain/Palin rally since the campaign began.

And I'm not even talking about deranged far-left mutants seeking revenge for their tormented childhoods but standard-issue poseur liberals who spout all the platitudinous left-wing vomit but only when they're not busy trying to score reservations at restaurants like Per Se or trolling for mid-century modern furniture on their lunch hour like the fey, full of shit, materialistic maggots they are.

The idea that conservatives are the angry mob in the political realm is a joke.

OBAMA IS NOT A SOCIALIST

"Calling Obama a “socialist” simply isn’t logical. He doesn’t share the belief that industries should be nationalized by the government or even taken over by the workers as many American Marxists espouse. He may not be as wedded to the free market as a conservative but he doesn’t want to get rid of it. He wants to regulate it. He wants “capitalism with a human face.” He wants to mitigate some of the effects of the market when people lose."

Rick,
How do you really know this, especially if the Dems get a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate and are able to ram through whatever they wish? Investor's Business Daily has done a yeoman's job of documenting Obama's acts and associations over the years (they have a whole series on it), and they sure are of the opinion that not only does he have a radical ideology, he will have no qualms about implementing it. Sure, it is possible that the Republicans may take back the Congress in two years if Obama does go "nuts" with his policies, but how much damage will be done by then, and how hard will it be to undo? How many judges and Supreme Court Justices will he have nominated by then as well? I for one, don't want to give him that chance, and neither should the American electorate...

TOP TEN THINGS THAT CREEP ME OUT ABOUT OBAMA

All of this hubris will be reach the top when "The Chosen One" states that he will not select a VP candidate. "When you have me, you need no one else."

NO SERIOUS BLACK GOP CANDIDATES

Great post...if McCain has ANY intelligence, he'll name JC Watts as his VP choice - not because he's black, but because he's intelligent and can go toe to toe with Obama on the issues (and win)...

FRED VS. HUCK: SUBSTANCE VS. STUPID

The debate couldn't be called substantive for anyone.

I liked Fred Thompson, but getting an impression for whether a candidate is a typical Republican, a liberal, very conservative, or something else is about all you can get from it. It is more of a personality contest.

Romney won on appearances, but that can only go so far.

Although Huckabee seemed awkward in the debate this time, he still came through as sincere in his commitment to doing what is right. That concept is from a Christian perspective which is very important to me, but I would like to have fewer generic Christian references except where it is substantially important. It seemed that he was frequently reminding us that he is Christian. I don't need a constant reminder. I need substance, But, again, that is not possible to any extent in this kind of debate.

Mike Huckabee has more substance than you give him credit for. My hope is he would succeed in building a team for his cabinet that brings a more conservative approach to the White House. We need a strong commitment to tax reform (Fair Tax? Flat Tax?). He would need to be tough on congress to get it done, but by gaining popular support to exert pressure. I hope to see more evidence that he can bring that kind of enthusiasm to the people.

STOP THE HUCKABOOM

I like Mike Huckabee. Until I started looking at the candidates last month, I didn't know what I would do with my vote. I wouldn't be able to bring myself to vote for Giuliani, and I couldn't vote for Romney. Since then, I see that Huckabee most closely represents my point of view of the entire field.

His opponent, if it were Mrs. Clinton, is not a huge worry. She has ridden the Bill Clinton tide. That shouldn't carry her to the presidency. Obama has less experience than any of the candidates in the two major parties. He should be easy to beat. Edwards is a trial lawyer who is not likeable.

If Huckabee is inexperienced, I don't care. I would take character over experience any day. Look at the most experienced candidates. Joe Biden. Who would want that to be their president? Certainly not me.
