I didn't make it to DC, but some of my blog comrades and fellow vets did. It was driven, in lage part, by the threat that The Wall would be sullied and defaced by graffiti. The update last week for the confirmed attendees for the GOE was only 750, but those I spoke with elsewhere said that's all we needed to defend The Wall. As it turned out, is appears that there might be a new dynamic at work. One hopes. Thank you for your words, for myself (VN '66-'67), and for my three sons, all Iraq and Afghanistan vets...one still there.
