DID "DAY BY DAY" JUST JUMP THE SHARK?

I don’t want to put words in Mr. JBM’s mouth but it appears that he is justifying Muir’s use of black face to highlight this pandering to the group (and by extension, recognizing stereotypes) by Hillary. (A point made by long time commenter BD in the comments.)

Indeed. I think Muir is saying that Hillary put the blackface on herself. I think so as well. She was pandering in the most shameful way. The link I have to La Shawn Barber’s comments on Hillary are important for the discussion.

That being said it was tasteless. But Lenny Bruce showed us that sometimes it takes tasteless humor to get the point across. I also think that Chris Muir is going to pay a price for this.

LOSING MOMENTUM IN IRAQ ISN'T THE PROBLEM

If history is our guide, and it should be, it isn't remarkable that there comes a time when we look back at the campaign and see the errors and blunders made. It happens in every war, to every side. The winner is the one that can redirect the fight; the axiom that no plan survives contact being true.

But you can't tell that to some people.

For example, The Belgravia Dispatches that you cite:

Just when you think your capacity to be surprised by some blunder or mishap committed by this Administration has reached some sad apex--so that your ability to get dumbfounded anew has just plain maxed out--you are left sadly awestruck by the sheer scale of the bollixing yet again. I'm reading Tom Rick's "Fiasco: The American Military Adventure in Iraq" and stumbled across this gem about confusion...

Now this is a great example of war blockheadedness that I have recently read, and it emblematic of the problem with war critics of whatever stripe. They expected things to be perfect. Variations of Stoopid Chimpy McBusHitler that revel in ddeaspair on how screwed up things were...endlessly. And they provide little or no cognitive plan for making things better.

Far more points are scored by bashing the Administration than in actually recognizing that mistakes wre made, we can;t afford to lose, and we need to go forward. It's called putting on the Big Boy Pants in dealing with reality. And few indeed are teh war critics who have them on. Instead, looking at history as my guide, I see the Athenians censuring yet another victorious general who didn't win big enough or fast enough.

A CURE FOR SCANDAL ENNUI

All though it makes little difference in the big picture I suspect that the old .pdf file had layers and code that a well equipped person could use to determine exactly when it was that they began to alter the e-mails. The date that they began to toy with the e-mails would be a good indicator of when they received the IMs.

I think that the Soros Spin Machine was caught off guard by the speed at which the alternative media responds to lies. I'm sure the media types seconded from Media Matters to groups like CREW are very good at manipulating traditional electronic news. We'll see how good they are at manipulting the Blogosphere.

Offtopic...kinda.

Did you know that the link to CREW's version of the Foley emails has been pulled?

THE WEBSITE THAT STARTED IT ALL - STRANGE BUT TRUE

I am a conservative, not a democrat...
...Foley was a disgrace and hopefully will face criminal charges and the Republican party refuses to condem him unequivocally.

One of the above statements is not true.

I think they were retyped or possibly the information was pasted on. That might be why the line "subject"e-mail 2" appears to be different. I wish Charles Johnson was on this.

Here's something odd. I've copied several portions of the same email from the sites of CREW and SSP. Guess what? Someone has Altered them!

NOW I KNOW HOW ALICE FELT

And if they were so sure it was not a problem, why not inform the Democratic member of the oversight group.

Yeah, after all Mr. Borden did buy that ax that dear Lizzie used. Of course, even with that minimal amount of information the Democrats could have launched an effective campaign to get Foley yanked. But isn't it so much better to wait until 40 days before an election?

If the the St. Petersburg Times, hardly "Faux News", didn't think there was anything that could be persued what makes anyone think that the Republican Causuc could do something? Now, whomever had the IM's in their possesion sometime in July (or sooner) could have done something. And should of.

Here's a specific point in the emails from 2005. The boy says:

But do tell me what you think about it all. I have one friend thinking I’m being paranoid and the other saying that she thinks it is weird that he even asks for my e-mail, much more what he said.

He doesn't know which way to think, and his friends aren't sure either. Like the St. Pete Times there just wasn't enough "there" there.

But let's not let facts get in the way of the typical Liberal tendency to make one’s decision based on raw emotion. In this case the emotion “LET’S SCREW THE REPUBLICANS!”

Mark Foley is obviously a troubled man who was following the classic stalker’s profile. What do you call the people that knew the path he was following and kept it quit for an October Surprise? What do you call people that mat have risked a child being sexually assaulted for the simple reason of wanting “their side” to win?

In this case I call them Democrats, CREW and the Left Wing Smear Machine.

FOLEY MATTER PROVES REPUBLICANS SUPPORT PERVERTS

The world is upside down. DNC operatives, aka CREW, sit on information that would revela a potential child molester for political gain. For a stinking "October Surprise".

Why aren't they, those who sat back and did nothing with the chance that a child might be harmed, being heaped with scorn? I thought Kos and his ilk, the nutroots, were for the people first. Nope, it's all about getting power and they don't give a damn weho gets hurt. Even children.
