I PREFER THE 'PROM DRESS' ANALOGY MYSELF

It should be apparent by now: Obama can't think for himself. There's no there there. He is spouting off the typical taking points that have been exhausted on the Sunday shows these many years.

The only thing different about the Dem candidate is that it's a different person from that last Dem saying the same well-worn bromides from the Sunday talk shows.

US OUT OF THE UN! (YOU'RE KIDDING, RIGHT?)

I am all for the UN out of the US!

The only thing the UN does right is that it gives a first name and letterhead to any despot. The UN also allows them ambassodorial cachet and "ligitimacy" in the arena of "real" inter-national democracies.

THE WORLD, POST AUGUST 22ND

Gee, another bummer for the drive-by media. No nuclear armageddon for the APTN to film makes for lousy television. Y'all know what that means: The drive by media will drag out all the bash-Bush articles they were saving for late October.

IT'S SO HARD BEING A LIBERAL

Rick, I am SHOCKERD! SHOCKED! I say! How insesitive can you be? You can't go around painting some folks with the broad brush of a liberal label. That's just plain whitewashing (we can still beat on the white folks)!

What makes you think you know that Hamster is a liberal? Where are your sources? Don't you know that being called a liberal is simply conservative codeword for communist? She may be a "progressive".

Such shoddy research. /sarc

OLMERT'S LAST CHANCE

It's no surprise that France would take the side of Hizbullah and Syria. They simply want to avaid another round of car-becueing outside of Paris.

A SLOW DESCENT INTO DARKNESS

Most of the vitriol (and worse) are proffered and advocated by those that also offer their websites as safe harbor to their allies with whom they have found comfort in such language.

Conversations are out, and have been 'out' as far as these folks are concerned for a very long time. The web merely offers them the unfettered ability to say in a crass way that they've felt even before having such an unmoderated or uncontrolled evironment.

These types of people are not interested in any form of dialogue, or an exchange of ideas. I cannot fathom their motivation for the behavior they exhibit, and the moderating of certain forums will only limit (to a small degree) their ability to hurl their invective into cyberspace.

Water seeks its own level and these folks, like rioting/protesting crowds, always seem to find cameras and sympathetic journalists that give them a format for publicizing their stock & trade.

It just galls me that our GI's have to defend them.

THE SH*TSTORM OVER THE WORD "SH*T"

The media are upset that Bush used an explitive. Holy Cow! They're the first to decry censorship when the FCC frowns upon a TV drama or radio jock using the swear words etc.

These same media types are just itchin' to get nude scenes on Primetime TV, all the while ignoring the sexploitation already rampant on television and they're nervous about our President speaking quite accurately about punk Syria lettin' go of the the leash of Hezbullah.

OUR OWN GOOD INTENTIONS WILL DESTROY US

Sadly, it's this same breed 'intellectuals, artists, and people of letters' whom chided the right when we sounded alarms about communism's evil, its history strewn with corpses and its subversive underground movements here and abroad. The Leftists in Europe haven't really changed. This "left" has been of a similar mindset since before the beginning of WWII. And they have been able to romanticize, without ever having practiced communism themselves. They have embraced despots of the world and their "culture" enjoying the luxury denied the despots constituents: the next plane outta there. What they, and many of our "allies" need NOW is to be weaned of American's largess, and military presence. A little of their own nationalism is the medicine they need to develope the cultural diversity they all seem to crave.

This "left" has enjoyed experimenting for free here in the states their philosophies and social constructs. Let's see what these experiments breed in their own countries, or will their pre-ordained 'nationalic ideals' win out. I am willing to bet that they turn out alot like us, if not more feverently protective of their cultures.

All we have to do is cut them loose.

THE "NEW MEDIA" STARTING TO LOOK OLD

"...In short, this is not so much Kos cracking the whip to keep people in line but rather the reluctance of many on the left to challenge his position and authority".

One of the biggest criticisms of the 'Right' is that "they eat their own" when it comes to questionable "ethics" of operation. The left doesn't do this at all...it seems. But they are I think, closing ranks in their own; "the end justifies the means" way and talking only to themselves in an ever shrinking universe. Their positions aren't changing many minds or collecting many new recruits.

"TELL THOSE DIRTY FASCISTS TO STOP THE NAME CALLING!"

QUOTE: "BTW can’t we find another word to use other than “Liberal”, for these psudo-Marxists? As an Englishman, politically on the right, I still think of myself as a liberal..."

I call them: "Illiberal". Because, they are not liberal in the true meaning of the word. Except on the issue of Abortion, but even then you have to be for it, or you can't speak at their conventions. Their responses are illiberal when considering(?) opinions other than their orthodoxy.
