Oh, sorry, that wasn't what this post was about? Well then come read my blog because I'm wonderful.
Sorry folks, I'm just trying to post comments on a level that George Jones might comprehend because he's clearly a drive-by who is utterly incapable of reading comprehension or talking about the actual post.
I'm guessing he might not even be capable of reading and is just copy-and-pasting comments from KOS.

I'm with you -- I don't think he's trying to be funny -- I've never met him, but I have seen a bit of his work. To me, it belies a personal absolutely filled with dangerous amounts of personal hatred. I truly pity him.

However, I don't think the Democrats have convinced themselves that "retreat in the face of aggression will not be seen by the world – our enemies most especially – as a monumental defeat for the US and our position in the world."
I'm just of the opinion that they really don't care. There are many in the Democrat party that honestly do not like that America is the shining light of the world. They WANT to bring America down. They honestly WANT America to be defeated -- primarily so they can obtain power, of course.

I think now it's up to Bush. He can lead or he can fall back on "unity" with the Democrats and doom Republicans. If he'd put up a constitutionalist judge and start demanding hearings and support from Senate Republicans, he'd do very well for himself and Republicans overall. If he goes with a more moderate selection, say hello to President Clinton II.
I think the conservatives WANT a fight. They WANT a battle in the Senate. I just don't think Bush and the Senate Republicans care.

Clinton would be a likely winner against any candidate that the Republicans put up, unfortunately.
Give her New York, the reliably Democrat Northeast (MA, DE, NJ, ME, RI, VT, and CT); then add in solid Democrat states (D.C., HI, WV, MN, and CA); and give her the swing Democrat states of FL, PA, MI, IL, and OH; and she's got 262 electoral votes. All she needs is 8 other votes from a swing area, and it's over. Very, very sad, but over.
I hate to sound pessimistic, but I think she's already won.
