OBAMA NAILS IT ON FATHERS DAY

I have to say that this is a sincere speech. Obama has been known to address parenting issues before. Given the fact that he had an absentee father himself, i think he feels a lot about this issue- of course he knew that this speech would get a lot of attention, given the fact he was in a.. ahem.. new church !

The real tragedy of the speech is that it is even needed in the first place !
Does any one, let alone a politician running for office need to remind men of their duties as fathers ?? It does tell me (a non US citizen) how more and more liberal the country has become and has steadily lost its conservative moorings over the last 40 years.

An ever bigger tragedy is the fact that the torch bearer of the Democratic party does not have the honesty to acknowledge how badly the situation was exarcebated by his Democrat party - how much the African American community's sense of victimhood has been exploited to the hilt. or how badly dependent blacks became on the Democratic party and consequentially, the idea of a welfare state.

For all of Obama's talk, he never had the courage or the decency to acknowledge that the only Democrat who had the courage to tackle the problems posed by welfare to the black community was Bill Clinton. Welfare basically was exploited to the hilt by both the Democrats and a section of the black community. Clinton at the very least tried to bring some much needed reform

But seriuosly, you can count on this speech to do almost nothing other than help Obama politically. remember how his speech on race was heralded as the greatest speech ever on race relations ? does any one realize that after eloquently defending his church (not just Wright) two months back , he basically threw all of them under the bus - his speeches, while always trying to be sincere ALWAYS seem to be politically calculated.

LEFT DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE HOW TO SMEAR SOMEONE

Rick,
In this fake outrage on "he doesnt care for the troops", you did not cover the most important part. His son Jimmy was deployed in Iraq for about 7 months and returned in February - so McCain does have the knowledge of how it is to have his own child serving in a war - not to mention the experience of having his father, grand father serve the country too.

But it does tell us of how cynical and sinister the Democrat party is. I now know that Rahm Emmanuel is truly a Chicago thug.

THE ROAD TO 270

Roland,
Did you work in Atlanta in '04 for a firm called WellFound ? I was in Atlanta 4 years back and one of my co-workers at that time had the same name as yours and was planning to vote for Kerry back then. I was also in the Kerry camp back then, but boy oh boy how things can change.

I would disagree with you on institutionalized racism regarding Obama. Sure, there might be a few people who will never vote for an African American candidate but the over whelming majority of people who are against him dont like his left-liberalism on economic and foreign policy issues, his demagoguery on the Iraq war, or the fact that his resume is razor thin. His election was kickstarted by winning in one of the whitest states in the Union - no one was talking about racism, back then.

The economy is not in a recession but it is going to be a huge headache for McCain no matter what - hopefully it is not a bigger one when November comes. It is really uphill for McCain now - lets see how he performs. These townhall debates are actually better off for him. His townhall meetings in NH were what propelled him to the GOP nomination.

But this race is for Obama to lose - no doubt about it.

OBAMA - THE COWARDLY LION

Allyon Whitey,
Please... please dont make Hussein Obama a martyr with unsubstantiated allegations like this. I have heard of the "Obama has had gay relationships" rumors before but until they are substantiated by the men who slept with him, it is nothing more than a rumor and a vile one at that.

Suspecting if Obama's kids are really his or if Wright has been banging Michelle are even worse - if you have any proof, show it - otherwise it is as vile as the NYT hit piece on McCain having an affair.

Rick,
Its no use arguing with the likes of sknbat - there are millions of people who draw the exact moral equivalance between Obama's relationship with his "spiritual mentors" and McCain's endorsement from Hagee. You cannot reason with unreasonable rubes like sknbat - he is profoundly ignorant of the seriousness of Obama's connection to these radicals. And even when you point out that, he is going to come back with " yeah, they have their radical sides but so what they have done a lot of good?" - this was the essence of Obama's excuse for that historical "imperfect union" speech on race.

Ofcourse Obama has now thown away even that pretense that he showed in his "historic" speech - internal polling would have shown that people didnt buy his horseshit - otherwise he would never have pulled this stunt.

Peter Wehrner at NRO put it best some thing along the lines of - "WE FORGOT THAT THE PERSON WHO WANTS TO "CHANGE" WASHINGTON IS ACTUALLY A POLITICIAN FROM CHICAGO".

He also says that "Underneath the attractive veneer of Barack Obama beats the heart of a very, very ambitious man. Time will tell how problematic this may be and what snares this character trait may eventually lead him into."

When you have dumbasses like sknbat who have their "eye on Fox News" with no worries about the charlatan posing for President, you have to read Wherner and go " shit, we are going to get the first radical/liberal President"

THE 'MAN ON A WHITE HORSE' SYNDROME

tetvet68 is the kind of person who scares the living shit out of me - he does not look like a Obama hyper partisan - rather a soft headed "independent" who cannot make any valid point as to why Obama is the best candidate for President. Heck, he does not even try ! Being an Obama groupie is one thing - but being an Obama enabler is probably far more worse.

He cannot refute Obama's inexperience or naivete - all he can do is to go with the "Fuck it, Barack Obama is your next President, so just deal with it" line. That prayer about asking God to give us the strength to know and deal with those things that cannot be changed is what comes to my mind.

Hopefully tetvet68 does keep his word and does not come back again. Rick, i can sense your frustration dealing with people like him. I have done that myself with normally very sane and intelligent people who have become Obamaniacs this election cycle. In fact our conversations got so heated, we decided to stop talking about Obama alltogether ! You can never convince his supporters with reason or logic. They have fallen for him and thats how they are going to be.

THANK GOD FOR PRESIDENTIAL TERM LIMITS !
