Incompetent: he got rid of a bad man,won the war in Iraq when he left office, restored our militaries reputation (funny the brits are not so vocal on how to run military tatics after Basara -quagmire?), left office with America safer than when he started his presidency,and got us back from the brink of financial collapse with TARP.Not a bad record and certainly not incompetent, but hey you read it in the NYT.

What is your purpose in this rant? You call for a special prosecutor to investigate the "crimes" but you are convinced and state that "crimes" have been committed.
So, do you want someone imprisoned and possibly executed for his "crimes".
Do you want the president to be impeached?Or are you making this plea so that jihadists won't torture there next victims or that the islamic extemeists won't keep hating Jews once they see how compassionate we are?

I was just reading Protein Wisdoms reviews of the Obama/Hillary debate last night.Actually he was having fun with Andrew Sullivan's lamenting about he new found heroes. In that process he named Sullivan a Faux Conservative. Bingo. That is exactly what you are - a FAUX CONSERVATIVE. At least Sullivan manned up to it(no pun intended).For me the last straw was you Basra debacle.

Hi Rick,
You seem to be changing your stance on what happened the last two weeks. Earlier you stated that we and the IA were defeated in Basra and there would be an uprising of the Mahdi army. Now you claim that you do not know what is transpiring in Iraq.Next time don't be too quick to let your bias get in the way of insightful analysis and clear thinking.
Also don't be too quick to say that the American public has lose patience with Patraeus.You are correct that I have altered my stance on what transpired in Basra although I don't think I ever said anything in quite so stark terms.
As far as analysis, you go with what information you have. I try to get as many sources as possible outside the media including embeds and the like. In that respect, Bill Roggio at the time was also pessimistic - and that was coming from his sources in Iraq.
So I make no excuses. Blogging is all about giving your opinion and waiting for all the information to emerge takes weeks even months. At that point, no one really wants to read what you have to say.
I think the polls on Iraq pretty much speak for themselves. Support for the war may be increasing but the number of people who want the troops home has remained steady.
