THE LEFT IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ABOUT JOE WILSON

Rick says:

"No one has ever, ever, ever interrupted another president or booed him, or called him a liar, or accused him of going to war for bloodlust and oil. What political party could possible countenance such evil?"

Has any opposition party ever brought signs and props to a presidential address of congress before?

Is calling the absent president a liar at an Iowa picnic the same as screaming it to a worldwide television audience during a speech by said president??

Is one loony Seattle Congressman thinking that Bush wanted to be "Emperor" equal to what Wilson screamed the other night??...Or is it more comparable to a politician or Fox host accusing Obama of being a socialist, or not being born in America?

The grumblings of the Democrats about Social Security reform during that Bush speech was the closest you got to true equivalence...but there was no voice that stood out quite like Wilsons did...Was there?

And I'm sure that you realize that when you try to compare an unneccesary preemtive war with a healthcare reform policy debate that you're truly groping..

One might excuse the Democrats passion when calling out Bush on the war...tens of thousands of innocent people were being killed, and many more driven from their homes in our name..

Either the Bush team lied us into that war, or they were incredibly, stupedously stupid...take your pick..

I pick both..

This is a Health care reform debate Rick...no doubt a serious issue...but to equate it with the seriousness of Bush taking our country to war with another country that was really no threat to The United States is laughable..

Besides, Wilson was wrong.

Obama wasn't lying.

WOULD SOMEONE ON THE LEFT PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME?

Rick says:

"There is no place in government for those whose minds have been captured by paranoid conspiracy theories."

I agree...All republican "birthers" in Congress should resign.

IT'S GOOD TO BE A 'DOMESTIC TERRORIST'

Travis,

There are no "daytime soap actors" who have won anywhere near to 30+ emmys..

Lying outright doesn't help your arguments or your credibility.

Nice try though.

Hey Travis..

Try this link on for size, it's from The Wall Street Journal, so you don't have to be embarrassed reading it..

http://www.rmi.gsu.edu/rmi/faculty/klein/RMI_3500/Readings/Other/HC_HospitalRationing.htm

It covers a lot of the same ground that the film does...but it doesn't have that liberal aftertaste..

Travis Moniter says:

"And the punchline is … Bill Moyers."

"What?!? LBJ’s bootlicking smear-merchant? The guy with more conflicts of interest than Chris Dodd?"

Bill Moyers is a private citizen and a journalist...Chris Dodd is a senator and a definite player in healthcare legislation..

Chris Dodd has conflicts of interest regarding health care...But can you enlighten me as to the conflicts of interest that Moyers has in relation to the health care debate??

Lets see...

He's a democrat...that conflicts with your interests, but that doesn't count.

President of the Schumann Center for Media and Democracy? Not much there...if anything..

Tell us Travis...what does Moyers have to gain from lying to us about the health care system and how it operates??

In the end, even if he did have a conflict of interest, he had nothing to do with writing or producing the film I was linking to..

So, what you're trying to do is to discount the entire film because you personally do not agree with Bill Moyers politics...or you think he has some conflict of interest that you wont tell us about...correct?

John Stossel:

19 Emmy Awards...5 National Press Club awards...one George Polk Award for Outstanding Local Reporting, and one Peabody Award..

Bill Moyers:

Recipient of the 2006 Lifetime Emmy Award. Moyers has been awarded well over thirty Emmys and virtually every other major television-journalism prize, including a gold baton from the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards, a lifetime Peabody Award, and a George Polk Career Award (his third George Polk Award) for contributions to journalistic integrity and investigative reporting. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and has been the recipient of numerous honorary degrees, including a doctorate from the American Film Institute.

Stossel is good, but he has a ways to go before he catches up with Moyers..

You know what's really funny?...Really "comedy"?

I had already seen that Stossel piece you linked to, and you still haven't watched the link that I provided. This means that I actually consider more opinions than you do, which means that I'm generally better informed than you are.

Har de har har!

Anyone interested in learning more about our current health care sytem, and who doesn't have an undeserved hatred for one of the most experienced journalists of our time, should check out this movie..

http://video.pbs.org/video/1230734280/

Bill Moyers is not in the movie, and only speaks for a few minutes beforehand...Give it a chance, maybe you'll learn something you didn't already know...There are people interviewed in this film that both liberals and conservatives can respect and believe..

I think this should be required viewing for all Americans..

Rick...If I'm spamming your blog, please delete this post and accept my apology..

Just so ya know...the Weather Underground were domestic terrorists, but they never killed anyone.

Since the topic is domestic terrorism, we can't forget to mention the bombing of the L.A. Times building (21 dead, 100 injured) or the Wall Street bombing (38 dead, 400 injured) or the Bath School bombings (45 dead, 58 injured)...

That last one should be of special interest to tea party fans, since it was the deadliest mass murder in a school in American history...and it was all about taxes..

Rick said:

"Voted for Carter in 1976. Almost voted for McGovern but in the end, didn’t vote for president in 72. Would have voted for Clinton in 92 if he had been honest."

I stand corrected Rick...I do admit when I'm wrong...You are NOT a partisan...I apologize for implying that you were..

"At least we agree on the term “partisan”. Labeling Rick a partisan is laughable, at best. That’s why I ask. He can obviously speak for himself (or his blog postings can in his absence), but if you’ve spent any time reading or listening to him you’d understand why that’s the case.

Nagarajan has a lot more patience than I do, so I won’t bother with the details. Suffice it to say, Rick defends his principles vehemently, but he does not defend Republicans blindly (which, I assume, is your implication with the label). I think even his critics here would agree that he’s conservative before Republican."

Sota..

Try asking Rick who the last Democrat he voted for in a presidential election was...that will confirm whether or not he has a "firm adherence or allegiance to a political party."

I voted for Reagan...and I sat it out in 04' because I couldn't bear to pull the lever for Kerry, even if it was a vote against Bush..

Voted for Carter in 1976. Almost voted for McGovern but in the end, didn't vote for president in 72. Would have voted for Clinton in 92 if he had been honest.
