Maybe, just maybe the guy who got shot didn't want the info out there. I don't blame the White House, and also can't understand your pitching such a fit. Who says we all have the right to know about this? It was a non-government outing, totally private, and we all know the MSM NEVER gives this administration any respect, or even a fair shake. Maybe I would have tried to keep it quiet also. After all, it's just more fodder for the critics of the administrstion, and all things Bush. And he wasn't even there!

This is my first season to watch 24, and so far I have found it interesting and entertaining. Is anyone else out there suspicious of "Anessa", as far as being a victimized sex slave? It seemed plausible to me that she was working with with the bad guy, and the way she handled and used the gun could support that idea. I'm suspicious of her reasons for shooting the guy. Why does Jack always speak in a near whisper? Has Chloe always had such a big chip on her shoulder? I haven't found the show to be slow moving at all, but I'm a new viewer. Sometimes it seems that there's too much going on for just an hour having passed.

Well,J2, I think fighting the war on terror HAS to be priority number one. Or we will all die, and "our" USA will be gone. We have enough tax revenues to do this without going in the hole. What is putting us in the hole are entitlements. And undisciplined congressional spending on pork barrel projects. Ten years ago the govt admitted that 23% of medicaid was fraud. What do you think it is now? Why aren't you railing against money spent on illegal aliens for education, crime and medical care? Where's your ourtage against all the drunks and drug addicts getting tax money? Or how about those on disability that are faking it? Or those on unemployment who aren't looking for work? Clean up the fraud waste and abuse first, then turn your eyes to the effort against terror.

Oh really Melanie? I don't remember hearing about any Christian or Jewish group beheading anyone. Or sexually mutilating female sex organs for "chastity" sake. When was the last Christian or Jewish suicide bomber reported? Sure, there are hateful and stupid folks in all religions, but don't compare the violence and mahem brought to the world by radical Muslims with modern behavior from Jews and Christians. I don't see the moral equivalence. Besides, God said the root of ALL evil is the love of money.

President Bush an idiot? What a hateful thing to post. You're gonna get coal in your stocking. Rick, your fans are usually much more civil and well...intelligent. Bush is a TWO term President who has increased Republican seats in both houses of congress. He has brought freedom, or the hope of freedom to millions. He's made available BILLIONS in aid to those on other continents. He has championed those people of faith, of all faiths, who have been made to feel marginalized in our society for a long time. I think Bush Rocks. He's here to stay, God Willing, so learn to deal with it. And oh yeah, we are out here listening and feeling strengthened and encouraged and optimistic for the future. As a long time Packer fan, I don't much like the Bears. Or the Lions. Or the Vikings. But I really appreciate your writing. You almost had me feeling sorry for Chicago. Having no creative talent of my own, I can sure appreciate it in you. Your prose usually informs and entertains, even on the rare occasion when I disagree with you. I balled like a baby when you wrote about your Mom and Dad a few weeks ago. You have a way of making things easy to feel. I'd like to see you do another series like the "Gettysburg Dispatches" you blogged. I keep thinking of other historical events I'd like to see you "report" the same way. I'm so mad at the "elitist" Punditocracy that I could scream. If you think that with her withdrawal the "source of friction" is gone, you are very much mistaken. This whole self defeating affair has been demoralizing and insulting. The scorn and contempt and mockery directed towards MS. Miers has been deplorable and has made me ashamed. She and the President deserved better. I'm one of those "Heartland" Christian Conservatives that feel betrayed. I'm the one that manned the phone banks, and worked the fairs and festivals, and placed signs and stickers and collected and made financial contributions to try to get George Bush elected and then re-elected. I trust him more than the intellegensia. I've been made to feel like your views only count if you are a rich, in the beltway/big city pundit.
