REFLECTIONS ON GOD, MAN, AND CPAC

As far as perceived arrogance goes...

"There's nothing wrong about being right."

We do have a time-tested real world answers to economic issues. Market economics DO work and they work well.

What we have seen over the past 20 years is how much Keynesian economics it takes in order to bring down the Market economics balloon.

Our current crisis starts with too much government spending and the sub-prime lending. It's not difficult to figure out, really.

There needs to another American Revolution. Soap box, ballot box, cartridge box.

The soap box is endangered by the "Fairness Doctrine" - whatever way it's implemented.

The ballot box has been compromised by radical left groups like ACORN.

And the cartridge box is under attack - banning military pattern weapons, ammo taxes.

Writing is on the wall if one cares to look at it.

"We have seen the enemy, and it is us."

THE STIMULUS SHOULD GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD

What's really ironic is that the post right below about saving the banking system was completely terrifying. So reading these two posts one after another was like emotional whiplash. Obama's in a tough spot. If he's too optimistic then people will get complacent and start believing right-wing talking points. Because you tend to be honest blogger you cause your readers the mood-swing I just experienced. You're not doing it right. You’re supposed to call things like climate change and economic collapse "moonbat" conspiracies.

I think we have two very different challenges; one is the stimulus and the other is saving the banks. The two are mutually exclusive and I believe (unlike most on the right who think the banks are holding on to the assets hoping for a bailout) that federal intervention is a foregone conclusion and necessary. To what extent, I don't know. But the banks are salvageable that much is certain.

The stimulus is something different. I support some of it but not enough to recommend it. It's about 300 billion too heavy in my opinion. And much of the tax cuts are misdirected.

I can see the need for assistanceto the states and even some of the health and education spending. But it is just too laden with obvious pork and needs to be tossed.

JACK BAUER IN A POST BUSH WORLD

I dont agree with the authors sentiment about the "new" Jack Bauer. I loved what he said to the pompous senator in the opening of the program. He is absolutely right that this "holier than thou" attitude amongst some of our country (and politicians) is nothing more than pur Pollyanna. Any country that gives more credence and rights to those that knowing and willingly blow up schools, strap bombs to retarded people, serve cooked children to their parents that wont cooperate, oppress women, and otherwise target and kill defenseless people is doomed to failure. People that dont get that are going to permanently harm this country with their naivete. There are far too many people in thi scountry that lack any seriousness about the issues we face - and the issues that they have been brainwashed to think are important but infact sont even exist (ie global warnming). This country better get serious quickly lest we cease being a great country.

GLENN GREENWALD IS A PATHOLOGICAL LIAR

People like Greenwald are fine examples of leftists offering opinions, that they relish as facts.

Neither has any practical experience in the area of diplomatic or military operations. Neither lives with the threat of a Qassam rocket landing in your front yard while their children play. Or live in a constant state of paranoia, wondering if the young Arab man sitting next to them is strapped with 20 lbs. of C-4.

It is so easy to pass judgment while sipping your latte and your biggest worry is saving the spotted owl. I wonder how much their opinions would change if they were under the threat of utter destruction, everyday. I would wager they would be the first calling for the destruction of whomever was interrupting their oh so important lives.

JINDAL IS NOT THE ANSWER

Why do you insist on being an idiot and exaggerate my critique of Jindal by setting up towering strawmen? The reason is you are not bright enough to argue the merits and therefore feel compelled to ascribe motives to my critique that are clearly not there as well as putting words in my mouth that I never wrote.

I'm not bright enough eh? Well Rickster, let's check your own wording and see if I am making use of your ambiguity to make strawmen references.

"I could never vote for someone who believes that creationism/intelligent design should be taught in schools – even if it is done in concert with the teaching of evolution with the goal of “letting the kids decide” which “theory” they wish to believe.""This kind of anti-intellectualism that promotes ID as science on a par with Darwinism is just plain LOONY."

Excuse me, I do stand corrected on one fact. You didn't paint him as a zealot, you painted him as crazy I do apologize.

One of his biology professors from Brown wrote him a letter begging him not to sign the LA law that allowed school districts to ask the state to teach ID. Is he not “thinking for himself?” The fact is no respectable journal will publish creationist bullshit which is why the scientific community is so dead set against ID being taught in any way to school children – except in religion class.

Obviously you are ignorant to the legislation. So let's explore the it, shall we?

From R.S. 17:285.1, relative to curriculum and instruction; to provide relative to the teaching of scientific subjects in public elementary and secondary schools; to promote students' critical thinking skills and open discussion of scientific theories; to provide relative to support and guidance for teachers; to provide relative to textbooks and instructional materials; to provide for rules and regulations; to provide for effectiveness; and to provide for related matters."

D. This Section shall not be construed to promote any religious doctrine, promote discrimination for or against a particular set of religious beliefs, or promote discrimination for or against religion or nonreligion.

Not one GD mention of ID or any other creationist crap. Yup I am an idiot you got me. (Sarcasm off)

Anyways, I am glad you finally decided to come out of your cave. It's nice to see you engaging your readers even if it is with insults. Keep up the great work.

C'mon Rick,

You are being highly disingenuous with your readers. It seems you are trying to paint Jindal as some Bible thumpin', backwoods, revivalist who is content on waging war with intellectualism.

I am going to let Jindal's educational background speak for itself.

From Wiki entry,

"Following high school, Jindal attended Brown University, graduating with honors in BIOLOGY and public policy. Although he had thought of a career in medicine or law and was accepted by Harvard Medical School and Yale Law School, he chose to pursue a political career. He received a master's degree in political science from New College, Oxford, as a Rhodes Scholar."

Yup, sounds like a superstitious, voodoo witch-doctor to me. Tell you what, when he acts on making legislation the requires ID being taught in public school then I will worry. Until then, its just his opine and I highly doubt he will do anything with it.

One last question, did him and Palin burn any books together at the Governor's conference? Why no they didn't, nor have they ever. Start thinking for yourselves.

Why do you insist on being an idiot and exaggerate my critique of Jindal by setting up towering strawmen? The reason is you are not bright enough to argue the merits and therefore feel compelled to ascribe motives to my critique that are clearly not there as well as putting words in my mouth that I never wrote.

REDEMPTION: THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE FAMILIAR

I think we should probably assume that Taylor is a Republican, given the above argument, but is there anything explicitly saying that she beat him in the General Election and not the primaries? Daniels definitely came off as a more moderate Democrat to me, so it's possible that he was picked off in the primaries by someone more amenable to the liberal base. And someone who actually has a personality.

A NEW AGE NOW BEGINS

Here's a newsflash for ya: in the past 48 hrs, I have heard more conciliatory speech and pledges to work with Obama from the GOP than I have heard in the past 8 years from the Democrats. The thing I hear most often from the Democrats and other Obama supporters is how he will be a centrist. It is funny that both parties are pinning their hopes on The Most Liberal Senator NOT to do exactly what he has stated he would do.

I hope that when the dust has settled, Obama will not have tried to lead this country down the path toward "universal everything, responsibility for nothing." Nothing in his character or past performance makes me think he won't try, but I can only hope.

One doesn't have to an obstructionist to stand up for what's right.

AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY INSANE: THE MOTHER OF ALL BIDEN GAFFES

Yes, I remember asking myself what in the world he was talking about when Biden said US and France kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon. I pay close attention to the news and knew I missed that historic event. What an idiot!

OBAMA'S FULL COURT PRESS AGAINST FREE SPEECH

this is scary, yes, but can you imagine this fellow as your president with the expanded presidential powers that have come to the office under bushy? obamessia has taken the phrase "whatever it takes" to a whole new level, the most sickening part is that he is doing it right in front of everyone's eyes and hardly anyone is taking notice. the koolaid is very strong in his camp.
