THE RICK MORAN SHOW: FULL OF HOT AIR EDITION

I've been wondering for the longest time... who the hell is "Allahpundit"? What is his real name? Or is this Ed using an alias (doubt this, since Ed sometimes adds comments to Allahpundit's posts at Hot Air)?

Allah was a pretty big blogger with his own site until after the 2004 election when something happened that made him quit. Not sure what it was but he disappeared as a blogger for a couple of years although he was a regular commenter at Protein Wisdom and some other sites. Then he latched on to Malkin's Hot Air and has been there ever since.

OIL AND AFFIRMATIVE ACTION CAN REDEFINE THE RACE

SlimGuy (comment 5)- the night that story broke, I told my wife that I would bet a paycheck that it was a setup by the Obama campaign. Since she already gets my paycheck, I wish the bet had been for sex.

Rick, I know you are not a big Gingrich fan, but his platform for the American people is hugely popular with Americans of all demographics. If McCain adopted and pushed this platform, even with the media bias, I think he would annihilate Obama in the general. This platform includes English as the official language, increase energy supplies (one of your suggestions), single rate tax system, deportation of felony illegal immigrants, etc. Although the anti-quota legislation did not make the top 10, it should have, because it is also hugely popular amongst whites in general, and white males in particular. The other issue that did not make the top 10 is gun control- 65 million gun owners don't want the next SCOTUS to swing the balance of the court, and this angle should be pressed, highlighted, and demogogued in basic Democrat style.

I am not convinced that Obama is the shoo-in that everybody else seems to believe. I think that this new age of information access, especially email forwards, has for the first time informed the normally ignorant masses of the nature of this charlatan.

TOP TEN THINGS THAT CREEP ME OUT ABOUT OBAMA

Read a Krauthammer post and loved this quote: "has there ever been a presidential nominee with a wider gap between his estimation of himself and the sum total of his lifetime achievements?"

He nailed it... this, in spades, is what creeps me out the most about Obama.

OBAMA'S WEIRDING WAYS

One more thing... the overwhelmingly lopsided, free media coverage of this trip, the unabashed bias by NYT and other media, the thrill going up Chris Matthew's leg... all of this should have Obama up by 20 points. An amazing thing is happening- this boring, technically challenged, senile old man is tied (within the margin of error) with Obama, and is closing the gap.

Maybe Americans aren't as stupid as I thought.

As if I needed more proof of what an empty-headed, empty suit buffoon he is, this dream of a world without nukes highlights his complete naivity. My dream is different. I dream that we all win the lottery, and we can all have mansions on the beach, with rich, beautiful dancing girls serving our every whim. Mine is more likely to come true. Besides, to quote (maybe a paraphrase) TJ, "Those who beat their swords into plows, will plow for those that do not". Maybe he should move to Germany- they don't have nukes, and they seem to love him.

THE MAN WHO WOULD BE FUHRER

It is amazing to see the host of conservative, political bloggers and pundits that refuse to rally behind McCain- in the name of honesty. Rick, you are spot on about McCain- he sucks as a "true" conservative, he's probably too old ("he should be playing with children"), he is boring and (frankly) out of touch with the 21st century (for Christ's sake, he doesn't use email or read blogs!!!). You, Malkin, Dobson, even Rush want to be honest in your contempt for and about him, but at some point, you've made your point- stop hammering the wooden stake! We all know his deficiencies. He's probably going to lose, but try not to make it worse. As bad as McCain is, he's not going to be the ruination of the country. Obama may ruin it, because of his likely SCOTUS appointments (probably 2, maybe 3).

This is a vent for some of your and Malkin's previous posts. Actually, I thought this one was pretty good. But throw McCain a bone and encourage your readers to hold their nose and contribute to McCain's campaign.

THE TIMELINE IS STILL A SUCKY IDEA

Terry did a good job yesterday. You must be proud of him.

A CHICAGO OPERATION FROM TOP TO BOTTOM

Nobody is missing anything... its just that nobody gives a shit. Lefty's want him to win regardless of how corrupt he is, or who's pocket he's in. Righty's are so disillusioned with McCain that they have given up (I'm basically one of them). Moderates are too stupid to take a stand on anything.

Obama will probably appoint 2 SCOTUS justices. THAT should be the story of the campaign. Say goodbye to the 2nd amendment.

THE RICK MORAN SHOW: NASA AND THE FUTURE OF SPACE EXPLORATION

Rick, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the veep possibilities on both sides.

Also, have you noticed how much McCain has begun sounding like Newt Gingrich? $300M prize, drilling offshore, declaration of energy independence? Smart move... never credit Gingrich (too divisive for independents he so desperately needs), but "wink-wink" to the conservative base. Or am I reading too much into this?

Hope all is well with Sue and you.
