The one hope that we have is that this is true. He is a liar, deceiver, and the most liberal candidate (with the possible exception of McGovern) that has ever been nominated. In the short term, his presidency will be a disaster. In the long term, we may be doomed because of the lifetime appointment of his judicial choices (possibly up to 3 SCOTUS appointments in 8 years).
God help us (or in your case, Rick, Karma, or something besides God, help us).

Drongo, I have very little confidence that BHO will be defeated in November, but its not because of who he is or what he stands for as much as how f*cked up the Republican party currently is. The republican leadership is incredibly weak, the supporters are angry and disillusioned, and that is going to translate directly into a probable landslide for the democrats this fall. BUT... that doesn't change what BHO is and stands for:

I wonder why he has such a cult following. He has pretty good speech writers, and he has a soothing baratone voice, but he's really not a very good extemporaneous speaker. If you read transcripts of his talks, you'll notice "uh, uh" and pregnant pauses peppered throughout (actually, you have to hear the pauses). He's handsome, but I refuse to believe that even democrats are so shallow as to align themselves based on someone's looks. He's smart, but he mis-steps and gaffs frequently.
I think it boils down to the infectious excitement of the ultra-left, stirred up by his alignment with their positions, as well as the fact that he is the anti-Bush (diametrically opposed to Bush on every position). I am curious to see if the ultra-left turns on him after the convention, when he has to try to appeal to moderate voters.
