FIRST, THEY CAME FOR THE SMOKERS

As a pipe smoker, I applaud your blog here. Strangely enough, my tobacco is not taxed that much (I get mine as special blends for as little as $2.50/oz with much fewer chemicals which I enjoy immensely on weekends). My tobaccos are aromatic so people *actually* complement the smoke who would otherwise kick me to the curb with a cigarette or cigar (which I also enjoy at times). Other smokers' reactions/analysis welcome.

'WE DIDN'T KNOW" WILL NOT BE AN ACCEPTED EXCUSE

I for one am not looking at Obama as "The Man", but after Bush the liar, war profiteer, and oil profiteer, I am happy to vote for anyone but the Republicans. What ever happened to the days of rich Republicans benefiting their poor and middle class brethern...now they just try to cage bribes and pay off government stooges. It's time to bring government back to the people or Republican heads will roll from the guillotine like they did in France's revolution.

ALLEN GRACIOUSLY CONCEDES

Well, I was disappointed that Allen conceded, it means the Dems have control over Congress, which will make things exceptionally difficult for Bush. But you're right, at least he didn't drag it out like he could have, he bowed out when he knew that the people had spoken.

I wish that Liberman wouldn't caucus with the Democrats, after all they did throw him out like a wet sponge because he was pro-war, why would he want to caucus with them after that?

FOLEY MATTER PROVES REPUBLICANS SUPPORT PERVERTS

I had pretty much the same thought, Republicans clean house, Democrats embrace their perverts as pillars of the party.

http://abaraxas.blogspot.com/2006/09/foley-republican-house-cleaning.html

Remember Democrat Gary Studds, he was accused of almost the exact same thing, only worse. He seduced and had an affair with under age House Pages. The democrats not only stood behind him, he was reelected.

CONFESSING HERESEY

You suggest cuts in AFDC, but that program no longer exists. Perhaps you meant Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), which replaced AFDC in 1996.
