LGF seems to have turned into "Little Green Spitballs". Lots of bile spilling over, must have severe heartburn.Comment Posted By Lars On 22.04.2009 @ 17:29
Beck is not the leader of the Conservatives/Republicans/Right any more than Limbaugh is. Seems to me that these guys get so much support from their followers because there is no leadership in the Republican/Conservative/Right arena. Maybe the "Tea Parties" are a manifistation of the frustration millions of people feel about government and politics. Maybe millions of people listen to these guys because they don't like the direction the country is going, and the Becks and Limbaughs are speaking their thoughts.Comment Posted By Lars On 12.04.2009 @ 08:38
Maybe the country is going insane, but I don't think everyone will go quietly into the camps.
What are the millions looking for?
You could probably create a list of possibilities better than most.
Smokers, jokers, doesn't matter. When a Democrat talks about taxes, regardless of the words spoken, the real message is "Pay up Suckers".Comment Posted By Lars On 2.04.2009 @ 13:52
Maybe John Galt can help.
If the real world terrorists are in place and armed inside the US, what better time to unleash attacks than during the current financial crisis. The inept government we have now would not have a clue as to what to do, and chaos would bring the country to the edge of collapse if not over the edge.Comment Posted By Lars On 10.03.2009 @ 07:40
Osama will have won without leaving his cave. Real life "24" on the streets.
#1 beat me to it. As I watch this season's 24, I can't help but think about the real life White House and find it more disturbing.Comment Posted By Lars On 5.03.2009 @ 08:44
Agree with bsjones, there are a large number of Americans angry with the entire political scene. The system seems to be rigged and no matter who gets elected they appear to quickly become corrupted and all we see is constant bickering and BS. So having a tea party without a hope of changing the system or even an idea of what we can really do about it is just layering on more frustration.Comment Posted By Lars On 27.02.2009 @ 18:09
While I still like "24", this season lacks the intensity and fast pace of previous seasons. It almost seems to have as part of the theme to show what a truly incompetent POTUS looks like.Comment Posted By Lars On 15.02.2009 @ 11:02
(Not that we haven't seen some of this in previous seasons)
Why go to an alternate universe for a hypothetical? Suppose Obama had to invoke the 25th amendment and Biden became President?
Um...the whole point was to have a scenario similar to the one on the show. McCain has a son in Iraq who might have been kidnapped which would have necessitated his stepping down temporarily. I suppose you could postulate that Obama's wife or kids might be kidnapped by jihadis but that is even more of a remote possibility than McCain's son Jimmy being taken by Sadrists.

OK, so we wind up spending $4 Trillion over the next 4 years on "stimulus" projects. What new jobs will be created? Seems to me that after the money is spent, the same people who now have money will still have it, the ones with little money and no job may still have no money an no job. After building roads and schools, will we still have an economy 70% dependent on consumers buying stuff? If consumers are to buy the stuff, they need a job. Will the "stimulus" money create new jobs, or just spread the bucks to those already doing ok? If this giant spending/debt creating project is run like most Gov't programs, I'm not feeling confident that we will be better off as a result. But, I'm not an economist so maybe I don't see the big picture.Comment Posted By Lars On 7.02.2009 @ 09:39
