“But if you care one whit about the United States of America... then you might as well switch parties and vote for the Democrat.”
“Well you can do what you want to us, but we won't sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America!

From Wikipedia:"Edward Luttwak explains how a coup d’état and a pronunciamento are different; in the former, a military faction deposes the civilian government and assumes power, in the latter, the military depose the civil government and install another civil government."Comment Posted By Kurt On 30.06.2009 @ 11:53
Augustine did not see man's perfection attainable within the "City of Man" here on earth. Instead, our life was directed towards the "City of God", or the afterlife in heaven. Our goal was to live in accordance with this aim in mind.Comment Posted By Kurt On 8.05.2009 @ 12:12
Well...since Obama is well on the way towards alienating the nutroots perhaps his plan is to pick up Hillary supporters as a way to shore up his approval ratings...which are sure to tank a bit once the honeymoon is over.Comment Posted By Kurt On 19.11.2008 @ 09:23
No matter the outcome of this election, the GOP is an endangered animal. And, just assuming here for a moment, if Obama wins he may mark the end of the DEMS as we know them. We may simply find that from all of this a true conservative and democratic party will split from their parents providing the public with a real choice.
In CA CD-4, the Republicans gave the Republican dominated district a candidate who doesn’t even live in the district. The candidate is the least effective candidate in the history of the party (mho) after 20 years of service.
It is time for either a new party or new leadership.Comment Posted By kurt On 30.10.2008 @ 11:31
YES WE CAN!
...lie through our teeth
YES WE CAN!
YES WE CAN!
...dig into anyone's personal life with the intent of destroying them through smear
YES WE CAN!
...do whatever the hell our conscience-less black souls feel like in order to get 'our guy' elected.
YES WE ARE!
the new Democratic Party.
Most of the Democrats around me are the pseudo-hippyish granola types who self-righteously enjoy rooting for the underdog. And I'm having no end of fun in pointing out to them the complete and total abandonment of any sense of fairness and decency coming from their party's campaign.
It is everything (and more) that they've spent the last umpteen years accusing the Republicans of being.
I would think that more than a few are embarassed by the spectacle. We'll see.Comment Posted By Kurt On 17.10.2008 @ 08:48
So the "Don't Blame Me, I Voted for Barr" bumper sticker is out?
Damn, I was going to get one regardless of the outcome.Comment Posted By Kurt On 13.10.2008 @ 11:15
Of course...Bush was the Clinton legacy. If things keep going in this direction I shudder to think what the Obama legacy will bring.Comment Posted By Kurt On 8.10.2008 @ 11:22
Chuck Tucson Said:
Meh. Going on about the media again. That’s great. Consider though that your party has made voters NOT CARE what we’re going to get, as long as it’s not what we currently have. I place the rise of Obama entirely on the shoulders of the Republican Party. Congratulations, he’s your fault.
Exactly. Obama will be the Bush legacy.Comment Posted By Kurt On 8.10.2008 @ 11:20
Oh, and webster (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/nuclear) considers nucular to be a somewhat acceptable pronunciation as well.
Of course, nitpicking at word pronunciations is what Hope and Change is all about. So have at it. It is certainly refreshing.Comment Posted By Kurt On 3.10.2008 @ 09:32
