I don't think th eACLU has a case here. Santa Claus, being a foreign power, is not bound by the Constitution. However, the government of the U.S. does have a duty to protect it's citizens from unwarranted spying by foreign powers, and it would seem that Bush is failing in his duites here.
Unless, of course, the U.S. government is working with the Polar Authorities, in which case the ACLU may have a case, as spying on the legal citizens of the U.S. is apparently a violation of our Fourth Amendment Rights.

The Silverado soundtrack, as well as the movie itself, is one of the most overlooked of all time, right next to Boondock Saints.
And what? No Elfman on teh list? I think that Danny Elfman is going to be considered the Mancini of my generation. (that happens to be the generation that came right after you, Rick, what with you being an old man and all:D)

Well said. The wonde of the space age are indeed being overlooked. A rocket scientist friend of mine put it like this regarding space probes;
"It's like shooting a BB from California to Turkey and makingit go into one particular keyhole at one particular moment in time, and watching it all happen in 5 minute delay."

TOOKIE EXECUTION OPENS DEBATE ON DEATH PENALTY
I grew up in a gang infested area. Crips and bloods and the vato's battled it out in and around my neighborhood for the rights to sell drugs and stand on certain corners.
I was jumped more than once by these groups for having the balls to ride my bike on a busy public street to the store, simply because I was white. I have the svars inside of my lips from a roundhouse delivered from behind me, while taking blows from the boys that surrounded me.
I have no sympathy for gang members. They choose the life, they should live with the consequences of their actions.
Good riddance to Tookie, and all of his bretheren that have gone before and shall come after him. May the bowels of hell be ever expansive for their blackhearted kind.

Matt, I would like to say that I consider that comment idiotic, but idiotic doesn't approach the depths of false moral indignation that you seem to pursue with such a smug, and just plain brain-numbingly stupid remark.
The fact that tookie killed four people, in cold blood, bragged about it, co-founded one of the worst scourges of modern America and has in effect been an accessory to countless murders through hsi actions early in life are not, NOT over ridden by the fact that he wrote some childrens books and managed to get a bunch of simpering, egotistical and wrongheaded entertainers to come to his defense.
Redemption is NOT a popularity contest, and twentyfive years of appeals is far too long.
Given my 'druthers I would say get biblical on his ass and lay him down and let him wonder when someone was going to pull the trigger that would send a bullet tearing into the back of his body the way he killed the 7-11 clerk. Slipping off into unconscienceness is way too easy of a way for such a monster to die. He should be made to suffer the kind of terror he inspired in those he killed during their last moments of life.
That is justice.
To those people that will stand outside of San Q tonight, crying that an injustice is being done, I pray that your families are safe from the monsters that roam the streets and prey on people claiming allegiance to the crips or the bloods or any other gangs out there.
Stanley "Tookie" Williams contributed greatly to this evil, and I hope his soul finds no rest for all eternity.

Rick, I haven't written a thing about PJM and feel now that I missed out on a trend. Woe is me. How could I pass up a chance to bash a group of bloggers that have joined in a new business venture?
Simple. I think more power to 'em. The hype and hysteria around the b'sphere since the party in NY has kept me entertained, and I have seen some really great satire come from all of this.
Anyone that believes you are going to change one thing you write here, contract or no, must not reallly understand you. The simple thought of someone calling you and actually having the balls to tell you what you can and can't write makes me giggle. The look on the face of someone when the realization hits them that telling you what to write was a huge mistake is something I would pay goodly amounts of money to see.
I can't wait to see how this all plays out.
To anyone from PJM that believes they can tell Rick what to write, please, PLEASE, record that conversation and post it as a soundfile for the world to hear.
That would be comedy.
