IRAQ CRISIS: FORT SUMTER OR BLEEDING KANSAS?

Considering that the sunni terrorists destroyed the Shia equivalent of St. Peter's, I am very surprised there isn't far more violence in Iraq over this.

I am not convinced this is a 'civil war'.

Someone should nominate Sistani for Nobel Prize, by the way.

THE "HAPPY WARRIOR" IS WEEPING IN HIS GRAVE

Royko!

When I was growing up, I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to be Walter Payton, or Mike Royko.

It was Royko that piqued my interest in politics - it was hard not to like that hard-drinking old cuss.

Came here via Powerline, by the way. I would have gotten here eventually however, I come by every day.

Perhaps it is instructive to compare this funeral with that of Ronald Reagan. It would have been quite easy to have a parade of Republican speakers get up and decry Democrats as communist appeasers and weaklings who got in the way of Reagan's victorious fight against the Soviet Union. Or to blast Jimmy Carter's horrid economy that Reagan healed.

But no, Republicans have a sense of decorum unlike Democrats, and do not think that anytime the cameras are turned on them it is time for political theater.

Who is classier? Republicans, no contest.

BEYOND BUSH DERANGEMENT SYNDROME

Please, please please is there some way we could get them to actually try this?

Such an en masse temper tantrum would be the signal moment of the end of the Democratic party. They would literally be walking out of Congress and into oblivion.

Actually I wish we had a responsible and viable opposition party in this country. Seems so much to ask these days though.

THEY REALLY DON'T HAVE A CLUE

Completely off topic - but Rick, I went to that link on Democratic Underground where that poster said you had a 'vile' site.

Man am I jealous. That is like winning the blogging bronze medal right there.

I am surprised they figured out this is a conservative site though, considering you use long words n stuff.
