THOUGHTS ON THE PASSAGE OF HEALTH CARE REFORM

@michael reynolds

When the debate is on the size of and food to be served in the extremination camps, there is no basis for honorable barter.

The health bill as passed by the house is unconstitutional on several points, unfunded mandates against individuals, expansion of IRS power far beyond the income tax amendment to the Constitution, and so on. The debate was so manifestly dishonest that it reeks of fraud. A public option that, by CBO's own scoring, would have premiums higher than the private options.

But, first and foremost, this bill seeks to radically change the relationship of the government and the governed, overturning "of the people, by the people, and for the people," in favor of a purer, more European kleptocracy that no one dare challenge.

No presidential candidate in the last 20 years has challenged the Federal government's unbounded growth and relentless subjugation of the people. And this farcical bill has spat that into the face of the American electorate.

See you in 2010.

DEBATE OVER TEA PARTY PROTEST NUMBERS MASKS THE REAL HISTORY MADE

The twenty somethings are starting to catch on that mandatory health insurance is a massive tax on youth. They will be goosestepped into paying for health care coverage they do not feel they need and that, as a group, they do not use.

The over 40s recognize instantly Obama's socialist/Marxist roots (nationalized banks, automobile companies, the politics of envy), recall the horror and cruelty that arose from 20th Century authoritarian governments and their programs, and viscerally reject plans to do that to them and theirs. That the enforcement will come in the form of stringent reporting requirements to an IRS that is incapable of understanding the existing tax code should fill all Americans with horror. That current Federal budgets funnel $8 Billion to the ACORN voter fraud and intimidation machine also vividly connects with this generation.

The over 60's understand all of that and that they are being shoved onto the ice floe as medicare is "reformed" into a classic government rationing board mentality. All to free up a few more Federal dollars to rejuvenate the great Democrat quid pro quo machine.
