I thought I was the only one who remembered ol' Billy Sol. (What a great name!)
A Texan who worked for a Texan who was chairman of a House committee told me years ago that Texans were taught that their main goal in life was "to fleece Yankees." Ol' Billy Sol was just living up to his upbringing.
