A BRIEF TIRADE

Rick -

You could not be more wrong. Anything Obama says regarding the Iranian situation will be used by the regime to push the meme that the "USA and it's puppets" are creating the unrest.

The longer the US officially stays out of the newspapers and newscasts in Iran, the better for the protestors and the agents of change (there's that word again).

As for Flight 253, I'm waiting for the Right Wing to start hyperventilating about putting this Nigerian on trial ON AMERICAN SOIL, and keeping him IN AN AMERICAN PRISON, and trying him IN A CIVILIAN COURT. When does the caterwauling start, claiming that by doing all these things, the USA is just creating a magnet for terrorism here in the USA and that the Obama administration is making the USA less safe.

This post is beneath you, Rick. I know you have a pair of brass ones... act like it instead of like the pussies over at National Review or Powerline or Hot Air.

I wondered in the post how much cred the regime had with the average Mohammed in the street. Even if they tried to make an issue of an Obama statement, I don't think it would resonate. Besides, he wouldn't have had to go off half cocked. A strong, rhetorical show of support for the goals and aspirations of the Iranian people wouldn't have done any damage.

SUPERBLY OBLIVIOUS TO HIS OWN IDIOCY

Sullivan has documented, factually, more than 33 lies stated by Palin. Lies so blatant and so obviously false that it calls into question Palin's state of mind. There is no other explanation than that she is a pathological serial liar.

The listing of those lies, documented factually, make Sullivan worth reading for anyone who cares about reality.

Heh - 33 lies? My, how impressive. A serial liar? Not hardly. You may be forgiven for obviously not knowing much about politicians.

SOME SHORT NOTES ON KSM AND AMERICAN JUSTICE

John Burke -

Um... Maybe you need to talk to some other people. NY'ers, as a whole, are overwhelmingly supportive, from the Mayor to the city council, on down.

Grow a pair.

Yes. KSM is just another terrorist.

Rick -

Why are so many on the right afraid of the US putting terrorists on trial in a US city? Governments all over the world have put terrorists on trial in their own cities:

The British put the Subway bombers on trial right in London.
The Spanish put the Subway Train bombers on trial in an open court in Madrid.
Indonesia put terrorists on trial for the Bali bombing in an open courtroom.
Even India put terrorists on trial in an open courtroom in Mumbai.

So why are we afraid to do what those "soft Europeans" do regularly?

Right. KSM is just another terrorist.

Thank you for clarifying that.

OBAMA'S "CHALLENGER MOMENT" AT FORT HOOD

Ooooooooh.... Rick Moran... you're gonna get it now.

Don't you know that the meme on the right is that Obama doesn't/didn't give a shit about the victims?

C'mon. Get with the program.

A RELATIVELY SHORT FOLLOWUP TO MY PJ MEDIA ARTICLE ON BI-PARTISANSHIP

Sportsmith -

I'm trully flabbergasted by your post. In the same post, you write:

"we conservatives either prevail or we lose all".

"I know I'm fighting a lost cause".

Do you see the incongruity of these two statements?

Additionally, assuming you're not crazy, please tell me what it would have to happen for your side to "prevail"? I'm genuinely curious as to how you construct this future in your own head.

Democrats don't know how to to govern alone.

Republicans don't know how to govern alone (see 2000-2006) AND they're assholes to women, minorities and anyone who doesn't agree with them. So they probably won't get the opportunity to govern alone again... in the near future.

SHOULD THE GOP HELP THE DEMOCRATS GOVERN?

SShiel -

Just because you claim it, doesn't make it true.

Four years ago, the GOP controlled every lever of government. If it wanted to, the GOP could have passed Tort Reform (without Democrats). They chose not to.

If it wanted to, the GOP could have opened insurance competition across state lines (wihout Democrats). They chose not to.

Right now, David Hamilton of Indiana, President Obama's first appeals court nominee, is waiting for approval by the Senate on his confirmation. He was approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee 158 days ago. Care to guess how many George W. Bush nominees were held in limbo this long in the last Congress? Yeah... ZERO.

So cry me a river.

You reap what you sow.

Until the GOP can figure out how to you know... actually govern... they'll be in the wilderness. The last 8 years were a disaster for the country, and ideologues like you were cheerleading it every step of the way.
