WHAT'S ALL THE HUB-BUB ABOUT CAMPAIGN FINANCE?

Dragon -

Bullshit. Your client can donate any amount she wants to anyone she wants as an individual.

Your example is total and utter bullshit. And the fact that you used such a bullshit example shows the lack of depth to your argument.

So Valero puts in 500 million dollars into a campaign, and discloses it. Do you want a foreign company putting in $500 million in a US Presidential campaign?

How does disclosure keep them from getting involved? And is the idea of foreign companies involved in our political process something that we should encourage.

Disclosure does nothing to answer my question.

The same question I asked of Rick, or any other supporters...

How do you keep American subsidiaries of Foregin Corporations out of our political system now?

Anyone?

Anyone?

Bueller?

A few simple questions for you, Rick.

Does/Should Samsung (South Korea, Lee Soo-bin) get a say in US politics?

Does/Should Valero (Venezuela, Hugo Chavez) get a say in US politics?

Does/Should Telemex (Mexico, Carlos Slim) get a say in US politics?

How about Sumitomo, Matsui, Royal Dutch, Nokia, Toyota, British Petroleum?

With this ruling, how do you stop them?

The intellectual dishonesty of the ruling is actually pretty stunning. Ruth Marcus of the Washington Post does a pretty good takedown today.

NEW BANKING REGS A BOON FOR MAIN STREET

Neo -

When Obama took office, the DOW Jones average was at 8218.22.

Today, it's at 10172.98.

By my calculations that's a one year return of 23%. Pretty good for an incompetent idiot.

You have to do better than put out a fact that is easily refuted when put into context. Anyone worth a damn knows the stock market goes up and down on a daily/weekly basis, and what matters is the trend.

Take a look at the one year trend here: http://www.google.com/finance?client=ob&q=INDEXDJX:DJI

Sure. Because repealing it created such a positive result.

It's amazing to me how many people can be ignorant of the facts before them, based on just the past several years.

Repealing Glass-Stegall nearly caused the collapse of our banking system, or are you one of those people like Ben Stein who thought everything was fine nearly to the bottom?

Many of us complain that no matter what Obama does, it will never be enough.

Vic, need I say more?

WHEN INCOHERENCE STRIKES

Rick -

How about an essay on how the Right is criticizing Obama for things they never criticized Bush for - even with the circumstances were much worse?

1. Criticizing him for his lack of response for 3 days after the attempted terrorist attack on flight 253. Bush took six days to address the Richard Reid case, and wasn't even asked about it directly during his press conference.

2. Criticizing him for choosing to try the terrorist in a civilian court, exactly like Richard Reid, which Bush tried in a civilian court.

Hmmm.....

Sorry Rick, but you should have done the same to the tirade below.

It's not up to your usual standards.

I say it with love.
