SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS

If it was in Julius Caesar (Shakespeare), it was in English. The only Lattin in the play is Et tu, Brute.

I'm not certain Jack's hostage is dead (i think he called for a medic), but we'll probably never know.

Logan and Martha are in a plot, Mark? You gotta be kidding.

(bet Aaron is a tiger in bed [snicker])

THE SUCCESSION

Damn, I forgot again. Thanks for the clarification regarding the Russian-speak, Rick. I've never acted nor actually spoken a foreign language in public, expecting to be understood.

AND, could people please not spoiler with tidbits from the next-week trailers. I'm as obsessed with NOT knowing what is coming up with 24 as I was/am with avoiding Star Trek movie trailers (didjyallkknw there's going to be a tenth movie??)

(i did know that aaron was going to turn up someime, so no real harm done. and i'm thrilled: love the actor, has he been elsewhere on film?) imdb will tell.

Midwest Progger: silly person, of course Jack is the hero (and now that Tony [sigh] is toast, the best-looking of the bunch - though Morris has flair and whimsy on his side). But yes, I admired Lennox for blowing the plot, and didn't even think about the conservative (me, to the right of Limbaugh) vs liberal angle. I just admired his loyalty.

No, the best episode so far, in my never-to-be-humble opinion was the 7th (? - from noon to 1pm) that Rick has dubbed The Sins of the Father. That was one of the best single-episodes of TV drama that I remember, not excepting some of the better ones of Dallas (sorry, snobs, but there were a few of those that were outstanding).

(i noted tv drama specifically above because the last episode of newhart ranks possibly first [need to review a few dick van dyke's] among the best in comedy television. rarely have i literally screamed with laughter as i did when newhart woke up with pleshette)

I'd written a note after my 2nd viewing last night and forgot about it:

When the VP learns that Jack is in the consulate and then the Russian prexy calls, he answers as "Vice President Brand," not as president.

Rick, you speak Russian? Else how do you know Jack's is lousy?

Larry: Well, wasn't only 12 hours ago that Jack got out of a 20-month stay in a Chinese torture camp, and he's vaulting walls all over the place (and why isn't he pasty white?).

All part of the suspension of disbelief. Last season, Jack broke (at least cracked) a rib in the first 4 hours, but it didn't impair him. Of course, Jack is Superman.

(someone once asked me when everyone goes to the bathroom. I told them during the commercials like everyone else).

Interesting thoughts about the veep's not taking the oath of office, but one correction. The Vice-president doesn't take the same oath that the President does. The VP takes the same oath as members of congress (and, I think, military officers, if not enlisted as well).

I definitely think that the VP was in on the assassinatin plot, more because his attitude toward Lennox's story (so, is he going to let Reed and Carson go?), than the way he took the news. You never know how anybody is going to ''take'' anything.

(hate to nit-pick, but we admins are like this: Lennox is chief of staff, not NSA. Karen Hayes was/is NSA.

THE ROAD TO IMMORTALITY

First off, I agree. If you don't like the show, don't read the commentary. And if you do, don't comment that you don't like the show. I mean, you CAN if you WANT to, but what's the point??

I hate to say it but I agree that Morris is toast. but I LIKE Morris. I like the way he treats Chloe (very well).

So WHO left the PDA behind for Jack? Phillip? Really??

I agree that Marilyn is hotter than Needle-Nose, but Audrey's been through more with Jack, so I'm rooting for her.

At least, Logan's showing up again (what is WITH the beard?...I thought he was Gredenko off-and-on during the conversation) will give us [i hope] Aaron Pierce again. I love that guy.

I was off this week, so only watched this morning and then read Rick. Off to read the "official" transcript and then watch the show again. I am hopeless, no? :)

24 RECAP DELAYED - A "BLIZZARD OF REASONS" (MAJOR UPDATE BELOW)

Well, while we're waiting (as patiently as we can), here are a couple of thoughts.

I'm a suspicious type. When Chloe couldn't track the car, and Milo did it with what looked like 2 keystrokes, I thought Hmmmm?? But I don't think I was right now.

Why doesn't CTU monitor cell-calls that originate in its building (don't tell me they can't, this is 24). I guess it's so the moles can operate until they get caught the "right" way.

Will Marilyn tell CTU that Phillip is bad? Or will her "I've seen what happens to people you try to protect" attitude stop her.

I was really thinking that the presidential coup was not related to the terrorism, but just being opportunistic. Right up until Phillip called "Carson," whoever he is. Oh well.

I feel sorry for Morris, but I wish he could've snuck a worm into his software that would make it only work once.

Okay, I'll stop and wait for Rick. (Here in Columbus, I had a snow day. If anyone ordered something from Eddie Bauer, it'll be delayed by a day (hopefully not by another, tomorrow).

SINS OF THE FATHER

Excellent as always, Rick. I've had my suspicions (fears?) about Phillip all along of course. But his killing Graem was totally unexpected. Until he started fingering the IV line as they talked. Then hubby and I both said "Uh-oh."

The thing about Morris was completely out of the blue (who knew he was an engineer, I thought he was just a geek like me - only better)

Dr. Feelgood HAD clamped off the IV line though and you'd think they would notice the empty syringe? Hubby says no, but I think Dr. Feelgood will check it out. HE knew Graem's physical condition and even told Phillip and the TAC team that he was stable, able to be moved.

Besides, at this stage in their relationship, By-the-book Bill would simply ask Jack and when Jack said no, would believe him.

Have yet to see Mrs Buchanan do anything except quit (including last year).

ALL MY SONS

I'm not even sure what Karen Hayes really did last year. Except get in the way and then, later, not.
