OBAMANIA! IS HE THE LIBERAL REAGAN?

rick--

I'm not certain what Bush state Obama flips to the Democrats. And now that he is one of 14 Democrats to vote against the troops while they are in harm's way, he will inherit the same problems Kerry did in explaining this kind of vote in language other than "I wanted to appeal to kooks and moonbats to get nominated."

Obama has a bigger issue he isn't looking at, namely, that he doesn't come off as holier-than-thou. If Barack Obama turns into St. Obama, the "magic negro" kind of attacks will stick.

ed--

I fear you misunderstand someone who compromises their principles, versus those who have opposite principles. The Democrat Congress will not cut the prescription drug program no more than they will scrap Ted Kennedy's No Child Left Behind bs. Instead-- the want to complete government's takeover of the health care market, raise taxes, appease terrorists, and implement tariffs that will make goods more expensive for Americans.

Despite the mistakes Bush has made, I look a the Dem agenda and say no thanks. The era of Gephardts and Liebermans is over-- today's Dems are owned by leftist anti-American hardliners. Granted, the Republicans have their own crop of hardliners, but they have a few moderates like Romney, Giuliani, and McCain. And Fred Thompson, who while is more conservative, speaks in sensible tones, as opposed to the shrill Ann Coulter-Bill O'Reilly bile we hear every day.

SUFFERING BY COMPARISON

The debate, which was actually a q/a session given the amount of candidates running, was respectable. Sure, the media gave hostile questions, but that is their job.

I share the consensus that Romney was the winner. I say this as a Rudy supporter.

Fred Thompson is a creature of people's imaginations right now. Watch a few videos of him in person, like Tuesday's interview with Hannity. Lethargic and uncompelling, Thompson the man is not the same as Thompson the actor. I think Thompson, with his plodding and reflective style, could be the, well, Bill Bradley of 2008.

WILL RUDY'S 9/11 PERFORMANCE HOLD UP TO SCRUTINY?

"And how Rudy emerges from this scrutiny will determine whether or not he can go the distance and capture the nomination."

Very true.

I recently watched a view of someone viciously heckling Romney about not being a true Christian, and Romney handled it with impossible and superlative skill, turning it into a plus for him while remaining likable the entire time.

This is a sharp contrast to someone like Howard Dean, who got red in the face and told a heckler George Bush is not his neighbor, and "You sit down! You had your say, and now I'm going to have my say!"

THE WORDS NONE DARE SAY: LAKOFF IS AN IDIOT

I love the way leftists talk about "framing" the debate. The people will embrace socialism, if only we use Newspeak!

Lakoff is willing to let the apocalyptic regime in Iran incinerate Tel Aviv, Los Angeles, London and so forth before we do anything about their nuclear program. Pomo leftists these days only care about their noble intentions. Not to do good, but to be non-judgmental and tolerant. We need to respect all "perspectives," they tell us, even those about the Mahdi returning with Jesus to kill Jews and Americans at the end of times.
