FRED VS. HUCK: SUBSTANCE VS. STUPID

Pierre said: It’s nothing new. It’s just something non-christians don’t hear every day.

um...no. As a lapsed Southern Baptist I can tell *tesitfiy* that only this denomination so stresses that "a wife must submit to the will of her husband". Because it's in the Bible, which is deemed inerrant by the Southern Baptists. So I would amend your stmt to read...."something non-Southern Baptists don't hear every day". IMO this is not a sentiment most US Christians agree with. Certainly not those who are female.

So it's down to Thompson for you?
If the National Review thinks his tax plan is so fabulous, why did they just endorse Romney?
Just admit it, the republican candidates are pathetic to a man. You are going to have to hold your nose next November. But I don't think you'll have the option of pulling the lever for Thompson.

CIA DESTROYS TORTURE TAPES

Thank you for writing this. Thank you for focusing on the core issues (and limiting yourself to only 2 swipes at folks on the left..a record low IMO). Thank you for not parsing or doing nuance.

you asked: And is it the kind of precedent we really want to set?

do you mean the precedent of the rule of law? or the precedent of accountability for actions? those are precedents i want set and upheld. i am more concerned with setting a precedent along the lines of "yeah, it was wrong but there are no consequences."

RUDY EXPLOITS MOVEON'S STUPIDITY

"The Moveon ad altered the political landscape, the controversy drowning out any criticism directed at the General and anyone who supports him."

wrong again. few folks outside of blogistan even know about it. geez, you are off your game these days.

THE MORE THINGS CHANGE...

..."so that we can find an honorable way out of Iraq without leaving behind a Middle East blood bath"

so you *still* think there is a pony buried somewhere in this pile of steaming dung?

unbelievable that you can even write "an honorable way out". WE screwed up. we have created a situation that has no good ending. ALL possible scenarios are awful...more awful for the Iraqis than for the US. but maybe if i just chant "victory! victory!" (for Juan the NeoCon) we'll find the pony.

BIAS? WHAT MEDIA BIAS?

evidently it doesn't take much to boggle your little mind. for example, the recent news of the error in annual temps in the lower 48 states was also heralded by you as really important. except that it wasn't.

maybe the repub candidates don't get coverage because they are so LAME.

counting stories or minutes of coverage is not the correct measure. i'm sure Mitt is getting lots of coverage with his decision to throw Craig under the bus. is THIS the type of story you'd like to see more of?

A MILLION SPAMBOTS DEAD, DEAD, DEAD

when my company recently moved to a new hosting company, the spam went way down. and then they further tweaked their filter and it decreased even more. so take hope.

JESUS, LORD! ARE THEY ALL HYPOCRITICAL BASTARDS?

the calculus seems to be: gay-bashing turns off young voters so maybe we should consider abandoning gay-bashing...now that "we" are beginning to worry about losing elections.

how about: it's WRONG to hate or discriminate or bash people because of a choice they make that makes some people uncomfortable.

TIGHTENING THE GORDIAN KNOT OF WAR

Rick Moran said: The Gordian Knot of war is beginning to tighten. And no one in the Administration seems willing or able to stop it.

speaking of readability, i don't get WHY you use the Gordian Knot metaphor but, as you have, i suggest "seems willing or able to cut it" in place of your language.

the Administration does NOT want to "stop it". instead it wants to build a case for war. and this designation of the IRGC as terrorist is another lame attempt to do so.

i've seen the prequel to this movie and i didn't like the "ending" at all.
