IMO most people do not want to have this conversation and will not have it. If they are covered (privately or through medicare/medicaid), those folks will take what they can get. If they are not, they'll do the same but what they "get" will be very little. I don't see how you can get these folks to engage. I think government regulation is the only way to spread the limited resources in an equitable fashion. At least that way all are included and have some input.
Unfortunately my position is interpreted as wanting to "pull the plug on grandma".

When are bloggers (on the right and left) going to stop clogging the intertubes with analysis of Palin? Enough is enough. You (and others) have explained and explained what you like or dislike. Can we just give it a rest and move on to more substantive issues? Even if she does run for office again, there is still plenty of time AFTER she announces to make endless arguments for why it's a good or bad thing. STOP! PLEASE!

Most "real conservatives" I am familiar with do NOT like Sarah Palin (Larison springs to mind) and would cringe at the MILF description.But these debates about who is a "real" conservative are as stupid as the ones about who is a "real" American.

Me, too. Or maybe just ignorant and determined to stay that way.
But I strongly dislike the "do you hate America?" phrasing. When some folks disagree completely with my POV, I never think they hate their country. This usage was coined and made popular by the pro-war crowd, no? As such it is another attempt by the ignorant (or misguided) to discredit those who differ from them. It needs to fall into disfavor IMO.
