Sarah Palin in 2008 was like Ronald Reagan in 1968: a first term governor who wasn't yet ready for the presidency. The raw talent was visible, but the candidate needed more seasoning. Nixon shrewdly fended off Reagan in 1968; Obama-Biden could rely on the media and McCain's blunders to hang on.
No other probable Republican candidate has Palin's potential or sheer charisma. If she learns from her mistakes in 2008, she could be unbeatable in 2012. Hence she must be destroyed now.
