BAUCUS REFORM PLAN HAS SOME MERIT

Even if Baucus gets Democtratic support for his "bill" by the time it
gets out of the Senate there will be numerous changes (few for the better
in my opinion). And, once it gets out of conference, it may be almost unrecognizable. Want to bet it includes the $10 billion for the UAW that's in HR3200? Bet that is not on his summary? Want to bet there is nothing substantial towards tort reform?

In any case, once you tell the insurance companies who they have to cover (everyone, including pre-existing conditions), what conditions they have to cover, that they can not put any limits on the total amount spent by them during the year or your lifetime for your care, and charge them a fee if they make too much profit, it seems to me that practically everything they do will be controlled by the Federal Government.

Write a plan based on conservative principles and ideas. Let everyone know you have a plan and what's in it. Oppose the Democrats' plans. When and if they pass it publicize the flaws and hope citizens will realize what a pig in a poke they have bought. Otherwise, their bill will just continue down that "slippery slope" towards total control of the health care market. And, in my view, substantially accelerate it.

PALIN'S OUTRAGEOUS DEMAGOGUERY: WHY NOT? EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING IT.

As I gaze into my crystal ball-

The House will pass a bill and the Senate, too.

The important thing to watch may be the provisions in
the Conference Bill that were in neither the House or
the Senate versions. That may be where they get us.

VIOLENCE AT TOWN HALLS PREDICTABLE AND DISTURBING

re: I don't know if labor bullies were responsible for beating up 2 conservatives in St. Louis

Well, as I understand it, 3 were arrested and had on SEIU shirts. You can see them in the video. The lawyer for the victim stated they had on the shirts.

But I suppose (us being a totally fair and reasonable group)we should wait until their conviction is final and until Holder declines to throw away the conviction (Phil. voter intimidation case) before we can say we know that labor bullies were responsible. And, I guess, we need to confirm they are union members and not plants by the well-dressed Nazi thug right-wing extremists.

JUST LIKE THE BIRTHERS ONLY WORSE: LIBERAL CONSPIRACIES ABOUT HEALTH CARE REFORM

Join C.U.F.F., Citizens United for Fishies. If we can all get our friends and families to join in reporting fishies to flag@whitehouse.gov we might be able to get 80% of America on their enemies list. If we can tie up their time going through this maybe they won't have time for other mischief like health care reform, or is it health insurance reform? Global warming or climate change?
Have a problem with your program? Just change the name!
Seriously, ThinkProgress this is pathetic. Over half a year down the road and they have 23 members and 6 twitter accounts. Doesn't sound like a powerhouse conspiracy to me.

DOES THE GOVERNMENT CARE IF YOU GET INTO TROUBLE OVERSEAS ANYMORE?

They are basically taking hostages and getting paid off. This is not a winning strategy for us. So Boot goes too far with the military option. What's the solution, Rick? Sucking up to them as we are doing now is not smart, imho.

Sometimes, there are no good solutions. So you take the one that will do the least damage to your interests and is thankfully, the correct moral choice; you save the hostages.

I think Kim would have found another way to get what he got out of us in this instance if we hadn't bartered - probably in the nuke negotiations. We actually lost very little.

FAMILIARITY BREEDS CONTEMPT WITH HEALTH CARE REFORM

If the Dems' plan is so great why are they delaying implementation till 2012 or 2013? I see they are not
delaying collecting the money (2011).

Do you think they might be afraid of how the voters react
once they find out how the bill actually works? I do.

And, there are no examples of successful health care based on the principles of the government market. And this has been tried but there is some question whether a true free market approach has ever been tried.

MUST IT BE ROMNEY IN 2012?

Mark Kirk a possibility for the Republican nomination? I may be mistaken but didn't he vote for the Cap and Trade bill in the House?

I understand we have to have a big tent but it would be hard for me and many others to find any enthusiasm for anyone who voted for that monstrosity. If, indeed, he voted for it he is either a kook or has very elastic principles either of which would make him a bit of a risk as President.

PALIN RETREATS

Maybe this is the best thing for Alaska and her. She can make money to defend against all the attacks and the new governor can do what's best for the state. Otherwise, everytime she left Alaska it would be "She's not doing her job" hysteria from the hypocrits who ignore all the senators, etc. who take off 2 years to run for president.

As for people like extremecentrist blaming the Letterman thing on how she looks where does one begin? Expect statutory rape jokes because you have children? Make sure you're ugly if you are a female politician? What an idiot.

Sarah, for all her inexperience and mistakes, was the only ray of light or hope in the McCain campaign. The few positions she took in the campaign I liked and I am sure that she would make a better president than the Carter the Second we have now. What the future holds for her is unknown but I suspect it will be better than the future of her detractors.

I HAVE COME NOT TO PRAISE CAPITALISM BUT TO BURY IT

Why would I disagree with you, Rick? You are right. Of course, the Democrats will go too far and there will be a swing back to the right. The problem is it will be 3 steps left and 1 step right. This will continue until we reach Obama's promised land, gov't. control of everything. Probably in his lifetime.

Once over 50% of voters quit paying income taxes it was all over with. Surprised it took you this long to recognize it.

? So now that you're against his policies will you also be responsible for an economic meltdown along with the rest of us? Per a prior article.

ON FAILURE - OBAMA'S AND AMERICA'S

The CBO was refering to the Stimulus Bill not the rest of the President's policies.
