McCAIN'S DISAVOWAL OF HAGEE A GOOD SIGN

Senator McCain appears to have shaken off a few restraints in the past few days. And the idea of this good man abandoning Israel (as Obama would do in a NY minute)isn't ever going to be part of the equation. As to him deep-sixing Hagee, as a Catholic who remains utterly disgusted by his comments and absolutely unwilling to consider his apology to be in any way sincere, I congratulate the Senator for his wisdom. Until a year ago, I lived in Columbus, Ohio for 13 years and Rod Parsley is a whole lot more pernicious than he is given credit (?) for being.

I don't think that Senator McCain is in any way abandoning true Christians (which, incidentally includes Catholics - at least to me), he is simply saying "Enough with the nonsense already" as he has every right to do.

And his smackdown of that ignorant puppy Obama regarding the veteran's bill was priceless. This may turn out to be an interesting general election campaign after all.

THE 'MAN ON A WHITE HORSE' SYNDROME

Let's begin with the FIRST fundamental dishonesty - that 75,000 person crowd who were there - NOT TO SEE OBAMA but because he was preceded by a FREE rock concert.

Secondly, George W. Bush was not a failure at most of the businesses he ran and he was a damned good governor of Texas. He actually knew something about the realities of the world when he was ELECTED and no amount of this endless loop of jingoistic chanting of untruths about our President is going to undo the fact that (a) he was elected fair and square, (b) he isn't dumb, (c) Al Gore is a moronic, demented opportunist and globe warming is the biggest crock of merde to hit this planet is several decades, and (d) Barack Obama could easily destroy this Republic with his stupidity, naivete and arrogance.

So go ahead and unload on me kids. I've been on this Planet and paying attention for 65 years. I'm an Independent and damned smart besides and I am sick to death of the whiney infantile morons of the left.

AREN'T THERE ANY GROWN UPS IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY?

The pampered darlings of the left are in a dither because the President of the United States, a man they love to revile (baselessly) has bluntly spoken the truth about the appeasers from the left wing of the Democratic Party and how their asinine whining endangers this nation and they can dish out the shit but they sure can't take it. Oh boo hoo and who gives a damn. Take your Huggies and hit the road if you can't take the heat.

POLL: AMERICA IS A SUCKY PLACE TO LIVE RIGHT NOW

I don't know how big the polling sample actually was, but 100% of the people I know, even my liberal friends, think all the hysteria about global warming is a crock. We all also understand that recession is defined as 2 consecutive quarters of economic downturn - which has not happened even one time during the Bush administration. Yes, there are some blips on the economy and yes, gas prices are worrisome. However, unlike the chattering classes, we know (granted I was the one who has pointed this out, repeatedly) that the rise in gas prices is less tied to the price of a barrel of oil (although that is certainly a factor) than it is to the enormous gasoline taxes that are endlessly piled on by short-sighted and greedy politicians at both the state and federal levels. These politicians think WE work for them, instead of it being quite the opposite. Way too much knee jerk nonsense going on and precious little actual thinking!

HILLARY: SHOULD SHE STAY OR SHOULD SHE GO?

In any event, who do you suppose is feeding all the dirt on Obama to the chattering classes? HRC isn't out of it by a long chalk!

I've been around the political block more than a few times, since I worked with my parents on Dwight D. Eisenhower's campaign a very long time ago.

For both parties, I have a simple message:Quit acting as though you "know better" than we do what we want and need. You have ignored our clear message in a number of areas, and frankly, I think the whole bunch should be kicked out on their sorry butts - with only a few exceptions.

Here's the deal all you congresspersons and senators: You work for ME. It isn't the other way around and the sooner you start acting as though you know that, the sooner you'll achieve a small (conditional) measure of job security.

You are not "our nation's leaders" you are the servants of those who voted you into office. Those same people who can revoke your cushy lifestyle and excessive privilege. Very few of you are worth the money you cost the taxpayers.

HAS THE TIDE TURNED IN COVERAGE OF OBAMA?

As to The Spawn of Satan, she is adept as always at trying to give evil a pleasing face - in other words, she's only about 52% effective. The mask just insists on slipping!

The additional dynamic at play here is this thing called the blogsphere. The "old" media really cannot afford to follow their typical patterns this time because we are out there ever-vigilant and trying to keep them marginally honest. Most of the "revelations" about this gigantic humbug (to use P.T. Barnum's favorite phrase) named Barack Hussein Obama have been ferreted out by members of the alternative media.

Combine that with their circulation numbers that are now in total free fall and they may have found themselves forced to show at least a teensy measure of real even-handed coverage.

If all of us (including the candidates) would focus on the fact that we should not just be encouraging the trifling word play that passes for political speech these days and remember that this election year is no less than a job interview for the position of someone who will protect our nation from enemies - both foreign and domestic (including the U.S. Congress, the most dangerous enemy of all at times).

I guess what I'm basically saying is that I wish both political parties and any fascinating wee splinter parties as well would just get serious about the dangers facing our nation and the world and come up with some suggestions we could all discuss! Without rancor and without name calling! What are we still 5-year olds on the playground?

THE "PATRIOTISM" ISSUE REARS ITS UGLY HEAD

As far as white guilt is concerned - I'm am so freaking sick and tired of hearing that bilge spouted, I cannot even begin to express it. I am white. Some of you are not white. Who gives a shit. When the bomb drops - it doesn't pick one color of skin to kill, does it? Sheesh!

Patriotism is really quite simple: It is a dedication to the history and principals on which your country was founded, and the willingness to make sacrifices to preserve, protect and defend both the nation and its people.

Liberals are, for the most part, too mired in their own self-importance to be able to spare much time, effort or attention to something like that! That does not, however, prevent them from having contempt for people who are patriotic!
