I also think there is a great danger of a self defeating schism for conservatives. I do believe when November rolls around those of us who are dissatisfied will come out in great numbers, just like we have in past elections, out of fear of what the alternative would bring. Unfortunately, I think that is exactly what the President/Karl and many of the Republicans who are up for re-election are counting on.

After twenty five years of personally observing the left/right confrontations this is what I see most of the time.
Go to most college campuses when a conservative speaks and learn how the left feels about free speech. Go to an abortion rally where both sides are represented and see how the left feels about differing opinions. Go to illegal immigrant marches where both sides are represented and see who gets the beat down.The only dissent that most liberals are comfortable with is their own. We have so demonized anyone who disagrees that Rick is characterized as a right wing loony. Unfortunately for the left many times it takes a comic book example to get the point across.

I don't think you will be disappointed with "The Unit". I agree that the resolution at the end each week's episode is a slight bother. I still think of Dennis Haysbert as Mr. President. I would have liked to have seen him continue on "24" but he is the driving force in "The Unit".
