ABC NEWS CALL MONITORING: WHAT'S GOING ON?

Brave Heart,
Spoken like a true Six Sigma 20/20 hindsight cafeteria Constitutionalist!

Foston,
You are a cafeteria Constitutionalist. You claim to want transparency, where the elected officials can not use the agency for nefarious political ends, yet are happy to allow said unelected agency personnel to use the agency for nefarious political ends. Neither the policy makers nor the personnel in the agencies should use the auspices of the agency for partisan gain. The editors in the press have an obligation to require leakers to seek whistle blower protocols first before they publish incomplete information. You run a greater risk of out of control government when the protocols of protection are ignored.

MARY McCARTHY: HEROINE

In today's NY Times: Both officials said they were speaking about the internal discussions because of the significant national security and civil liberty issues involved and because they thought it was important for citizens to understand the interplay between Mr. Cheney's office and the N.S.A.

So "they" determined their personal views on secret internal deliberations by elected policy makers, the people elected to government, the very people held accountable by the democracy must be exposed to "their" determination as to what is important?

We at the Times are more than happy to throw this out there with no corroboration: And one government official, who had access to intelligence from the intercepts that he said he would discuss only if granted anonymity, believes that some of the purely domestic eavesdropping in the program's early phase was intentional. No other officials have made that claim.

They have become what they most hated about Nixon. That 70's Show mentality will be their demise. They are using government agencies as a political weapon against their political opponents. The MSM are willing enablers, yellow journalism, it shows how negligent the editors have become. The very non-political transparency they demanded in the 70's be dammed!

THE HYSTERICAL DRAMA QUEENS OF THE LEFT

Rick,
I love the dynamics of democracy. Bush is at 90% approval when we were attacked and in a recession. He is at 30% with no attacks and a booming economy. This is the time when people expose themselves as poll watchers. When our troops come home and begin the reprisal of the MSM bias, watch the punishment leveled on the Moveon Kos insurgency. Any candidate that is distancing themselves from Bush is toast in 08.

J'ACCUSE: BERNSTEIN MAKES A SERIOUS CASE FOR IMPEACHMENT

Rick,
It is all about them. They have never been supportive of democracy, unless they are in power. The people voted in November of 2004, what were we Americans given as a celebration of that event? An unprecedented electoral protest by a US Senator. If Berntein wants to investigate, why not investigate the journalistic malfeasance of the Kerry record. In a center right country, a liberal from Massachusetts polled greater than 35%? In a center left country in 1972, Nixon buried McGovern. Is there a single voice in the Democratic Party that would follow the Party of FDR, Truman, Kennedy, Johnson. When de Gaulle told Johnson to get our troops out of France, he remarked, "does that include the ones buried there?" Today, they would have said they were sorry. The moral clarity about the greatness of the United States does not exist with these people. Why give them any credit or due?

THE MYTH OF INCOMPETENCE

WW2 is a perfect example, the Nazi Army was very efficient, tremendous kill ratios, but the Allied Army, while inefficient, was effective. Sounds a bit like the carping about Halliburton's effective, while inefficient cost wise, supply activities in Iraq. Take the Pentagon's study of how effective body armor was. The hindsight Six Sigma Party used this data to pin point incompetence. Information about defects, unknowable prior to actual body armor use and a proper and big picture necessity, is disgracefully used as a foresight damnation. Human interaction has too many variables to quantify to achieve quality of Six Sigma, that is why it only works with machines or human processes where the human counter party has no control.

ANY PORT IN A STORM...EXCEPT THIS ONE

Rick,
DPW's purchase of P&O was agreed to on February 10th. The sale of P&O began 3 months ago. Had this story become public prior to the purchase, think of the bad publicity against our interests in the Middle East. Say PSA won the bid for P&O, there would be no issue and certainly good relations with UAE. The President had no choice but to stand by this transaction, even if the ultimate result will be the divestiture of the US ports by DPW. It gives a face saving out for DPW and makes it domestic politics rather than US foreign policy. This issue is like Social Security, make a single security case and the complex issue is dead. This is why I like President Bush, he knows the long term policy implications of this, his father would have caved to the Georgetown Kool-Aid. Democrats will gain nothing, this will blow over. There will be no Congressional action because like Terri Shavio, ex post defacto is unconstitutional.

EMPATHY II

Rick,
Blind aggrieved cultures require a watershed event in order to trigger introspection. They are their own worst enemies, they have been conditioned to place blame on us. There is nothing we can say to change their minds. Like Bush Derangement Syndrome, Muslim Derangement Syndrome is a tall order to overcome.

BEYOND BUSH DERANGEMENT SYNDROME

Rick,
Like you wrote some months ago, disloyalty to democracy. Barbara Boxer's protest of the Ohio Electoral College really grabbed the headlines.
