LOOKING FOR MIDDLE GROUND IN THE IMMIGRATION DEBATE
Ours is the nation that simultaneously fought, and defeated, two world powers. (Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan)
Ours is the nation that sent men to the moon and brought them safely home again.
Ours is the nation that won the Cold War.
We CAN secure our border AND solve the illegal immigrant problem, if only our political leadership had the will.

To me, the real mystery is why every single administration since the 1979 sacking of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran (and the holding of its staff as hostages for over a year) has essentially given Iran a free pass.
It might be that ever since the Carter administration, we've been hearing that "moderates" will come to power in Iran.
After 24+ years, those "moderates" are proving to be mighty elusive.
Considering the mullahs unabashed support for terrorism, and the covert export of arms and explosives to the terrorists in Iraq, (and now the development of nuclear weapons.) I still don't see Iran being held accountable in any meaningful way.
The Iranians are supporters of terrorism. Period.
I continue to be disappointed that no one in Washington seems to be acting accordingly.
I guess they'll still be waiting for those "Iranian moderates" when the mullahs test their nuclear device.
