THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE

Finally a rational Republican thinker! I look forward to reading more of what you write, even when I don't agree with it. Your logic and consistency are a refreshing change to most of what I read (right or left) these days. thanks!

IF ELECTED, OBAMA WILL BE MY PRESIDENT

This ACORN stuff is beyond ridiculous. If ACORN registers 730,000 fake people to vote, how many of them will vote on election day? Come on now, I know it's hard....that's right! ZERO! This is registration fraud, not voter fraud. They could register 7 billion made up people and it wouldn't change the outcome of the election. Be logical here people, please.

AN ANSWER TO D'SOUZA'S "WHERE IS ATHEISM?" QUESTION

D'Souza is doing the best with what he has. Unfortunately, what he has is religious faith, and that's not much to work with. As a result, his examples are half-truths, his analogies are weak, his conclusions faulty, and his misrepresenation of his opponents' position constant. To #5 above, helping others is instinctive to me - I'm sorry for Ann if her instincts are still those of the three-year olds she references. To #10 above - your concept of a god has only evolved as the mythology of Christianity has been dismantled, discredited, eroded, and disproved by rationalism, humanist philosophy, and science in all its forms (history, biology, anthropology, astronomy, etc). The path from literalism to "moderate" (ignore whatever parts you don't like) religion, from theism to deism, from belief to agnosticism - these are all steps, taken by humanity, societies, and individuals, on the path to atheism.

NO WORDS

Well, that all looks plausible with one exception...in this version Hurricane Katrina does little damage thanks to St. er, President Gore. I think we all know that no hurricane would have the guts to come near America during a Gore administration.

Other than that it's all pretty obvious that this is how history would have played out.

Oh, she forgot the 'Saving America Act' which would have outlawed the Republican party (not that anyone would have ever voted for one again after 8 years of Gorean paradise). Besides I am sure we would have done away with elections anyway and simply proclaimed our undying allegiance to Albert the Magnificent.

They really are delusional.

IRAQ: QUIT OR COMMIT

i can't believe what i'm hearing: people actually considering a new war in iran--with the same ham-fisted application (i.e., bombing with gay abandon). facing this dilemma without iraq on our backs would be one thing; now we (could) have 130k troops trapped in mess-o'potamia should the persians decide to muck up the persian /arabian/american(?) gulf with a blockade at the straits of hormuz. think about consequences this time...clearly, unlike the last.

THE DESCENT OF ANAKIN

I could care less about Lucas' professed political beliefs. I can enjoy a movie despite the director being an idiot.

But I have to disagree with your assesment of Skywalker's seduction. I thought the entire thing was stilted, wooden and scripted. Christensen played his role as though an original thought never entered his head. The speed with which he was turned was unbelievable and his killing of Mace was just horribly out of character. I thought the rest of the movie was decent in spite of that part of the storyline. But that's just my 2 cents.

"USS KILLER RABBIT"

I guessed that the next thing would be the Aircraft Carrier Lyndon Johnson.
