ASK LAMBCHOP

And I thought Karl got him at PW yesterday. Best takedown of Ellers Mc Ellerson ever!

MY TOP TEN FAVORITE DOOMSDAY SCENARIOS OF ALL TIME

BTW, CTV sticks by their story. Not debunked by any means.

Love it,Rick! It's like the History Channel's doomsday show in Cliff's Notes form. And this one without any direct human intervention or causality. (It is far more likely that one of these outside events cause our demise, rather than our own puny efforts. We're not as powerful as we think we are.)

Thanks for throwing us God-botherers a bone with number 10!

WHY I AM SICK TO DEATH OF BOTH PARTIES

Okay Repubs that are "prepared to sit it out." I have the ultimate insult for you.

You're acting like far-left liberals! Remember the ones who were so unhappy with Al Gore's lack of liberal purity that they voted for Ralph Nader? Then, when they saw that their "principled vote" cost them an election and gave the presidency to George Bush, they got their panties in an 8-year bunch.

And you're willing to stay home instead of fighting against another Clinton or a candidate whose policies are probably on a par with Nader?

That's not principled. At least the lib would jump in a car and go do something. You're lazy as well as stupid!

DELEGATE MATH DOESN'T ADD UP FOR ROMNEY

On the other hand, and post with a combination of "Blazing Saddles" and Monty Python "Dead Parrot Sketch" ought to win the Watcher of Weasels, doncha think?

Hugh somehow combines the desire for purity existant on the wonk side of the party, without the self-defeating willingness to throw an election to be on the side of the angels.

I voted for Romney on Tuesday, I'll vote for McCain in November (despite the fact that Obama or Hillary will destroy him in Illinois).

FLIRTING WITH OBAMANIA

Rick, thank you for saying what I've been thinking. Is the harm of his liberal policies more worrisome than the amount of racial healing that could take place? Especially if the difference between he and McCain is fairly narrow on many issues. The Rezco stuff doesn't really bother me too much, that's fairly typical Chicago politics (and not even in the ballpark of Keating).

My biggest concern is that he would adversely effect the outcome in Iraq before sensible leaders got him to understand reality.

THE "STATE OF THE UNION" IS NEVER THE POINT

Rick, Loved ya on Ed's show.

I couldn't agree with you more. the tax pre-bate is going to come back out of our pockets eventually. It's just bread and circuses for 21st century. It bought Bush some goodwill before, and he might be trying to send out his repub cronies with a smile.

And what will the money be spent on? Downpayment on a Hyundai? $200 sneakers from China? Vacation in Mexico? Although I have an aversion to the gov't keeping any more of my money, it strikes me as just stupid voter tricks. A cynical move from the President.

A SHORT BUT PITHY NOTE ON ACHIEVING THE RIPE OLD AGE OF 54

Happy B-day, Rick. Ef-off, Steve. It's his blog, if you don't like it, don't read it.

Now Rick, about more important matters: how will the Sox pitching hold up this year? Can the young kids hold up at the bottom of the rotation. (Remember how they used to say to think about baseball to hold off during sex? Now you'd just rather think about baseball!)

COMPLETE TRANSCRIPT OF THOMPSON'S "ADDRESS TO THE PEOPLE OF IOWA" AS DELIVERED

That is the best political speech I have read or heard in many years. That's what I want in a President. That's big picture focus, with the ability to present that focus in an unambiguous way.

I'm voting for Fred in IL on Feb 5th. And I'm going to look into getting a Fred sign. See if I can volunteer as well, something I've never done before.

STOP THE HUCKABOOM

I am the Christian Right guy he is targeting. I study the Bible, believe it. I am even a member of a Southern Baptist church. So this is supposed to be "Red Meat" to me, right?

Give me a break. What he is is a light-weight specifically designed to be the anti-Hillary. If he were nominated, I doubt I could hold my nose an vote for him. At least Hillary knows people who understand the geopolitical world, even though they view it through leftist glasses.

I trust that my fellow God-botherers will have more sense as they learn about Huck than to vote for him.
