THE TROUBLE WITH HARRY

t.gray (#60),

I see, the 109th is "the worst ever" because Rolling Stone says so. Such is the appeal of so-called gonzo journalism amongst the mad/rad left, where expletives and cockiness command credibility, rather than objectivity and critical thinking.

Can you provide a source for such an outlandish claim which are geared less toward a "fan base," perhaps a piece with a bibliography?

t.gray (#43),

While we now know the former President Ford disagreed with the current administration's strategy and justification in regards to our actions in Iraq, "repudiation" is not at all in keeping with his demeanor.

Ford was able to disagree and criticize with dignity and respect, and had his priorities in line when it came time to heal the soul of our great nation. Come down off your high horse and you just might learn a thing or two.

IG REPORT ON BERGER'S THEFT AN EYE OPENER

Yo Wingo (#4):

Bush crime family? Oh, OK. Seems to me a person concerned with the Constitution would be more cognizant of the presumption of innocence implied therein.

Do have anything else for us besides the tired memes emanating out of LiberalWorld?

WHAT IRAN WANTS

Gregdn (#10),

It’s about time people in this country realized that we’re not running the show any more.

We never were running the show, sir, but rather enjoyed the fruits of some mutually beneficial alliances with Western Europe during the Cold War.

If only these same allies would appreciate the true nature of the evil the "free world" collectively faces from the various 'cists and rogue militias, but alas they think they can safely pursue different priorities.

Yo Wingo (#6):

But last year Iraq was not embroiled in a civil war, buddy. ;)

Now on to the current reality. Since 14 of 18 provinces (containing 2/3 of Iraq's population) are relatively calm, any assertion the country is gripped by civil war is ludicrous on its face.

It's quite fortunate the sensible, non-partisan, non-ideological middle of our great nation speaks and acts out of concern for what's right for the country, rather than crowing about being right should one of the arrows in the constant barrage of negativity, masquerading as "activism," actually come close to hitting its mark.

THE DARK SIDE OF "TRADITIONAL VALUES"

Hey jpe (#18),

Right out of a Kos diary, perhaps, except that Rick doesn't proceed to unleash a flurry of false associations and broad-brushed statements in the interest of bolstering the perceived moral superiority of the more zealous followers of Liberalianity, whose display of critical thinking skills is inversely proportional to their propensity to pay the Brockmans, Palasts and Moores of their counterculture to say what they want to hear.

Only someone willfully blind, with malign intent, or historically ignorant could conclude large numbers of Muslim immigrants are a good thing. Unless your idea of a functioning polity is Lebanon, southern Thailand, or Paris, it makes sense to pull your head out of your posterior and smell the demographic conquest leading to balkanization and eventual sharia law.

At least read Bostom's Legacy of Jihad before writing something this ridiculous again. Every nation which thought Islamic immigration was a good idea is now called a "Muslim nation" or is facing imminent collapse, like the EU. It's hard to believe anyone could be so blinded by the old "immigrants assimilate" trope which never turns out to be true with regards to Islam.

The texts are immutable. Ijtihad is closed. The ulema is radical and Saudi funded, so it's only going to get worse. Islam never gives up one inch of conquered land, which includes new mosques - anywhere. There is no mainstream Islamic theology which can be considered moderate. The last word on the "rights" of non-Muslims is Sura 9.29: convert, pay the jizya, or face warfare. I could go on and on, and perhaps someone should to confront this type of breathtaking ignorance.

Goode conjoined a stupid argument about the Qur'an with a very important argument on immigration. But he is the first federally elected official to broach the issue. For that, if nothing else, he deserves kudos. Swearing on the Qur'an is horrible is because of the rules on never taking non-Muslim friends, loyalty to the ummah above all else, and the duty to lie for the ummah.

OBAMA FAILS RELIGIOUS TEST: SCHLUSSEL

Hey Davebo (#16):

Debbie is but a symptom of the problem many honorable conservatives are going to have to face.

You're on the right track, however the reality is that extremists are everybody's problem, no matter where they're burning holes on the political/social fabric.

LOOKING INTO THE FACE OF ETERNITY

Another good read is Creation and Evolution by Alan Hayward.

Even if we discount the 1 in 10e40000 chance of the right combination of nucleic acids and enzymes coming together to form the first single-celled organism in the primordial ooze, ~13 billion years is nowhere near enough time for it to have evolved into the life forms who left their mark in Lascaux, much less those posting on this site.

NOT VERY BELOVED

Apparently one can take the boy out of the 'hood, but not the 'hood out of the boy.

Will LiberalWorld, enamored with the notion that redistribution of wealth will clear up so many of the pock-marks on the face of our society, be able to latch onto the nuggets of truth revealed by yet another public persona hurling themselves off the pinnacle of success?

Seeing Tank hopelessly mired in the dank, putrid muck of his own making is a poignant reminder of a loosely formed hypothesis of mine, i.e. that even in the presence of unlimited material wealth, and a perfectly fair system of distribution, such that every need and want of every person on the planet were to be satisfied, at least 10% would still find a way to self-destruct.

That a lack of self-respect is somehow correlated to poverty is but one of the many fallacies which came out of the so-called "liberation" of the 1960s and 1970s.

Truth be known, it doesn't cost one thin dime to change an attitude.
