9/11: FROM NEWS, TO HISTORY, TO MYTH

The other thing that amazes and appalls me is how the Left has managed to convince the media that they were all in favor of Afghanistan, but Iraq was going too far. In fact, most of the Left opposed the war vehemently; remember all the comments about how the British and Soviet empires had been unable to conquer the Afghans, and the predictions of the brutal Afghan winter?

ANDERSON COOPER PITCHES: SHEEHAN HITS HOMERUN

"At that time nobody, including Tony Tersh who posted it, had ever heard of Cindy Sheehan…"

I know you're quoting there, but that's a silly quote. Sheehan's been quite well-known among the left for over a year; she was giving anti-Bush speeches and interviews in Florida in October. She was not well known among the general public, certainly, but she was in an ad produced by the cows at Moo-On that aired in some of the battleground states.

DUELING BLOGSWARMS

Jeez, Rick, your posts lately have been off the charts excellent. Great thought, great writing, great links. And I'm pleased to hear that not all of the Left have signed onto Crawfordapalooza, the seemingly annual moonbat festival at the WWH.

DEAR MR. PRESIDENT: SHUT YOUR YAP!

I've always felt this issue gets way, way too much attention. It's just not that important. Yes, I think evolution is fact, perhaps still with some lacunas to be filled in.

But the notion that our kids will be sweeping the floors for their Japanese biotech masters if we don't teach them evolution in 10th grade is easily as ridiculous as Intelligent Design.

WHY DID SO MANY PEOPLE HATE BILL CLINTON?

I agree that the notion that Bush hatred on the left is less passionate than Clinton hatred on the right is absurd on its face. Both had elements of extreme paranoia (e.g., the Clinton murder list or the LIHOP and MIHOP theories of 9/11).

CIA PARTISANS: SOME PROFILES

"THIS AIN'T NO RAG - IT'S A FLAG." BUT...

Rick, I couldn't agree with you more. I've always said that flag-burning should be legal, and so should beating up flag burners. ;)

HEH. NOW THAT'S RICH!

"...the smell of the greasepaint and the roar of the crowd..."

Considering the New York drama scene, it might be more appropriate to refer to the roar of the greasepaint and the smell of the crowd. ;)

REMEMBERING WHY I LOVE HISTORY

Great post, Rick! You'll get no argument from me as to the significance of the event. IMHO, it was a greater logistical feat than the moon landing. Considering the technology of the time, it is probably the greatest logistical feat that will ever be accomplished.

TEN MOST HARMFUL BOOKS OF THE 19TH AND 20TH CENTURIES

Chomsky isn't significant enough; he's about as dangerous as Erica Jong. I think the best argument for a book that belongs on the list is for "Protocols of the Elders of Zion".
