5 MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT

Yeah, what was with that 60s or 70s spy drama music? We supposed to read something into that? Like, don't take this TOO seriously? The 24 producers having some fun?

LTC Burruss told me that Haney joined 13 months after Delta was formed.

Back to 24: Maybe Henderson will experience a "conversion moment," become completely disillusioned with Logan's scheme, set up a meet with him, kill him, tape a confession, then kill himself. Then...

No. 7, Re "The Unit" - Eric Haney is a phony when he claims to be a founding member of Delta Force. One of the actual founding members, retired LTC "Bucky" Burruss, told me so. Also, Haney was never a Sgt. Maj. in Delta. Interestingly, David Palmer actor, Dennis Haysbert, now in command in "The Unit," has stated several times recently that he believes the 24 writers made a big mistake killing off his character because he was a fully dimensional, strong black leader, etc. leader.

Will the writers dust off the 25th Amendment & use it as they once did with Pres. Palmer - presidential incapacity, that is. Or: Logan must be nuts to have hatched this plot. On the other hand, with clear evidence of his involvement, will Aaron just go ahead & arrest him? Seems to me that once apprised of the facts, Aaron will have allies in Mrs. Pres. & the Veep.

NOT THE USUAL SUSPECTS

Back to the Pandora's Box reference by Henderson. The myth sayeth that she, Pandora, was wife of Epimetheus, that voices within the box were pleading for her to free them from their gloomy prison. Finally giving in to temptation & curiosity, she lifted the lid & out came all the ills & woes of humanity. Okay, so should we read this as a Logan/Mrs. Logan thing? How literal is head writer H. Gordon? And remember, Pandora dropped the lid, closing the box after her first mistake. Her hubby talked into a second look therein...and out came Hope. So do Logan & wife reconcile after whatever is in store happens?

During their interview bit on El Rushbo the other day, 24 masterminds Surnow & Gordon noted Greg Itzen's "genetic resemblance to Richard Nixon." They said he created the character & they "wrote to it." As for what Jekyl/Hyde Logan is up to, how about gratifying his power tripping ego? Where was Mike Novik last night? What's he up to? While I felt satisfied having my suspicions about Evelyn verified, I gave a hat tip to the writers for their twist re her motives. Twisting is their specialty. So if we're to expect the unexpected, maybe Logan's wife is the real, the actual power behind the throne; she's a UN agent whose job is to create a situation resulting in the US being subservient to the World Body...okay, I'm outa here.

TORTURE ISSUE WILL NOT GO AWAY

Rick, is there credible evidence of "Torture is being carried out as a matter of military routine and it must stop."? From Sullivan there is nothing but hysteria and the NYT's has been known to shade/misqoute/fabricate the story.

Where do you find the evidence that torture is being used routinely?

A HIGH HONOR INDEED

Rick,

I have to second Santay. You are among the best conservative bloggers in the whole 'sphere. The real shocker would be if you don't win, not that you were nominated. You are worthy! You are worthy!

Good luck,

Barry

WHAT KIND OF COUNTRY DO WE WANT TO BE?

" How about keeping them offshore to keep us safe? Do you think Al Quaida would not destroy a facility to quiet a just-captured terrorist who had sensitive information on upcoming operations?"

Yes, if they could. Now, which facilities would be easier to destroy? Large installations within the US, or smaller installations in other countries?

Hmmm.....

TIME FOR BUSH TO CRACK THE WHIP

"Although the Senator is not up for reelection until 2008, my guess would be conservatives in the Palmetto State have very long memories."

You can bet this Palmetto State conservative has a very long memory, and when it comes to Lindsey Graham's antics of late, a very short fuse!
